New details about the Diagon Alley expansion at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter inside Universal Studios Orlando have been released. The Associated Press reported the theme park addition is expected to double the park in size.
New photos, released on Thursday, suggest the expansion will draw from the film franchise to recreate Knockturn Alley and various shops like Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour, the Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes joke emporium, Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions, and an expanded Ollivanders’ wand shop.
The expansion’s main attraction will be the “Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts” ride, which is a multi-dimension adventure set in the wizard bank guarded by a dragon.
The Hogwarts Express will shuttle visitors between all Harry Potter themed areas in Universal’s Islands of Adventure park and the new area in Universal Studios park. Unfortunately, admission to Universal Studies will only grant access to Diagon Alley. If you want to visit the original Hogsmeade area, park-to-park admission is needed to catch the Hogwarts Express.
