The third season of American Horror Story, aptly named “Coven”, ended on January 29, 2014, and since then we’ve heard little about the upcoming fourth season. Until now…
Douglas Petrie, writer and co-executive producer of the show, was the one who spilled the beans on season 4. Moira Kirkland and Ben Blacker were able to squeeze some information out of him during the Nerdist News podcast. Moira and Ben questioned him about rumours that the fourth season would center around a carnival, to which Douglas replied:
“Yes– that was the, it– it does not have a title. That’s the idea. Very roughly, that’s the idea.”
Given the speculation that was making its way around the internet before “Coven” had even finished, it’s really no surprise that the creative minds behind the show chose to focus the fourth season around a carnival.
However, series creator Ryan Murphy did confirm in an interview at the end of season 3 that fans had yet to “completely” guess the premise for the upcoming season. Was Ryan simply trying to throw fans off or is there more to the carnival theme than we already know?
