The casting news for this film just keeps getting better and better. It has been announced that Academy Award winning actress Holly Hunter has been cast in the upcoming Batman Vs Superman film, directed by Zack Snyder.
Zack had this to say about Holly joining the cast:
“Holly has always been one of my favorite actresses. She has immense talent and is always captivating on screen. I had an opportunity to meet her a while back and knew instantly that I had to work with her, so as we began writing the script I made sure to create a role specifically for her.”
We previously reported that Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons will join the cast as Lex Luthor and Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred, respectively, while Gal Gadot will portray Wonder Woman.
In addition to Holly, Warner Bros. also announced that Callan Mulvey (300Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) have joined the cast, with each actor playing a character created for the film.
“I just had the good fortune to work with Callan on 300: Rise of an Empire and was very impressed with his incredible talent,” Zack said in his statement. “He’s a fantastic actor and I’m looking forward to having the chance to work with him again. And, quite simply, Tao is a striking presence whose beauty is aptly rivaled by her amazing abilities as an actress. I’m really excited to have her joining us on this adventure.”
Production of the film is currently going on in Michigan, with the screenplay being written by David S. Goyer. Deborah Snyder and Charles Roven will be producing, while Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, and Wesley Coller will all serve as executive producers.
Batman Vs Superman is set to open in theatres on May 6, 2016.
