New "Guardians of the Galaxy" Clip: Chris Pratt as Star-Lord
Check out this brand new clip of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord for the upcoming Marvel film, "Guardians of the Galaxy."

The first clip for Guardians of the Galaxy is finally here and it features Chris Pratt‘s Star-Lord character going up against Korath, played by Djimon Hounsou.

The clip was released exclusively to MTV and although it’s the first full clip from the film, it’s much of the same footage that we saw in the first trailer.

Watch the clip here:

The clip shows Star-Lord attempting to steal a very special orb; so special, in fact, that everyone else in the film seems to want it. We don’t know for sure why Star-Lord wants it, or what it does, but it seems like it will play a key role in the plot of the film. MTV speculated that the orb could be one of the six gems that Gamora was sent after by the Collector in the Infinite comic prequel.

The official synopsis for the film:

“From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team–the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand–with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.”

Guardians of the Galaxy, also starring Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, and Vin Diesel as Groot, is set to hit theatres on August 1, 2014.
