Anna Paquin Will Appear In "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" Despite Previous Reports
Despite previous confirmation that she wouldn't be, Anna Paquin as Rogue will appear in the upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past" film.

This is absolutely amazing news!

It had previously been reported that while Anna Paquin would be reprising her role of the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past film, her character Rogue had ultimately been cut from the film. However, BuzzFeed has recently reported that, based on confirmation from Fox, Anna has in fact made the final cut for the film.

Back in December, director Bryan Singer told Entertainment Weekly about the news to cut Rogue from the film, saying that, “Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.”

A rep confirmed Anna’s presence in the film, after it was noticed that her name was present in the credits of the newest trailer, saying, “Essentially, [it’s] a cameo.”

Fans (myself included) were incredibly disappointed to learn that Anna, who is now more notable for her role as Sookie on HBO’s True Blood, would not appear in the film, despite her character playing a predominant part in the first three X-Men films. Rogue, a runaway with the power to absorb a person’s thoughts and abilities through skin-to-skin contact, was the main focus of the first X-Men film. She was coveted by Magneto who wanted to use her mutant powers to power a machine that would turn powerful world leaders in to mutants.

It’s not quite clear what Rogue’s role in X-Men: Days of Future Past will be, but whatever it is, we’re just happy to know that Anna is returning to her rightfully earned place amongst the stars of the X-Men franchise.
