Speaking directly to fans in a video from Abu Dhabi, Star Wars: Episode VII director, J.J. Abrams, introduces a new initiative, called “Star Wars: Force for Change,” to raise money and awareness for UNICEF Innovations Labs, a program that helps the children all over the world by “finding creative solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems.”
Until July 18, with a minimum $10 donation, you’ll be entered into a contest for a chance to appear in the latest Star Wars installment. One winner, plus a guest, will be flown to London where they’ll get a behind-the-scenes tour and a chance to meet the cast. The winner will be done up by hair, makeup, and wardrobe and placed in the film as a Star Wars character.
Speaking about his amazing experience as part of the iconic franchise, Abrams said, “All of these people around that you hear and see are helping us make this movie, and it’s an incredible thing. It’s surreal to be here in this amazing place with these incredible people, working on this film,” Abrams says.
