"Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" Gets New UK Cover Art
The second book in the J.K. Rowling series about the boy wizard, Harry Potter, has a new cover in the UK. Bloomsbury hopes to draw in a new generation!

Bloomsbury, the UK publisher of the Harry Potter series, has released a brand new cover for the second book in the series, The Chamber of Secrets.

This September, Bloomsbury will be re-releasing the series that made J.K. Rowling the richest author ever, in hopes of attracting a new generation of avid readers.

The new cover was designed by Johnny Duddle and shows Harry Potter battling the basilisk, with the sword of Gryffindor, in the Chamber of Secrets. Fawkes, Dumbledore’s phoenix, swoops across the front, getting in between Harry and the sharp fangs of the basilisk. In the bottom left corner, Ginny Weasley lays unconscious.

RecentlyHeard.com didn’t write about it when it first came out, but take a look below at the new cover for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, released in March.

The new covers also depict a different style for the Harry Potter heading which, at one point, featured a more jagged font with a lightning bolt as the vertical line of the “P” in Potter.

What do you think of the new “Harry Potter” covers? Are you excited to see the rest as they’re released?
