Nickelodeon To Air Two New Episodes Of “The Legend of Korra” Every Friday

Nickelodeon To Air Two New Episodes Of "The Legend of Korra" Every Friday
Nickelodeon has announced their plans to air two new episodes of "The Legend of Korra" every Friday night, starting on July 11.

This is bittersweet news for fans of The Legend of Korra.

In a Twitter response to a Korra fan account, Nickelodeon confirmed that, starting July 11, The Legend of Korra will air two new episodes, every Friday night at 8/7c:

While this does mean that fans will get to see how Book 3: Change plays out in less time than the normal run of a season, it also means that, after waiting nearly a year for Book 3 to air, the entire season will be over in only a few short weeks.

Nickelodeon has been making quite a few questionable marketing decisions lately – decisions that were first questioned when the current season of The Legend of Korra premiered to low ratings. Many fans blamed the lack of promotion for the new season as the reason that the show didn’t perform as well as it could have during its premiere.

On the other hand, however, Nickelodeon’s decision may have been based on the fact that four episodes of the current season were mysteriously leaked online by a network affiliate only a few weeks ago. Perhaps the network was more concerned about getting the show out properly before the leaked episodes could eventually spoil the show for its faithful fans.

While news of two episodes every Friday might not be exciting news to some, we can relish in the fact that we now know that two new The Legend of Korra video games are coming out this fall.

Are you happy that “The Legend of Korra” will be airing two episodes every Friday? Or would you rather see Nick stick to one new episode per week?

I hate the way they are treating Legend of Korra. They are like trying to get rid of the show as soon as possible. Not just this show, but other amazing great shows (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kung Fu Panda, etc.) Not just the new episode airings, but they never gave The Legend of Korra a rerun timeslot. They basically just treat the show like trash. They need to get their act together.

I’ve often felt the same way. It seems like, in a lot of cases, that the show’s with the most potential as well as the biggest fan bases are never given the proper exposure or attention that they deserve because they aren’t “mainstream” enough. It was like when Young Justice got canceled because the studio didn’t see enough money coming from toys and other merchandise.

That being said, however, I do think that the creative minds behind the show do an absolutely amazing job with each and every episode, which is what I care more about than how the network chooses to promote it.
