A new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" TV spot has been released for the upcoming film, and we get to see the kick-ass turtles as babies.

A new TV spot for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has arrived and it briefly explains the Turtle’s origins and how they were created to be weapons.

The film, directed by Jonathan Liebesman and produced by Michael Bay, follows the Ninja Turtles as they set out to take back New York City from the evil Shredder and his Foot Clan.

The official synopsis for the film says:

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.

The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was released in 1990, at the height of the franchises success. The film brought in over $200 million at the worldwide box office and spawned three, bringing in another $216 million in total.

The upcoming film stars Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, and Will Arnett, and is set to be released in theatres on August 8, 2014.
