J.R. Ramirez Joins "Arrow" Season 3 As Wildcat
"Emily Owens" alum, J.R. Ramirez, has been cast to join the upcoming third season of "Arrow" as Ted "Wildcat" Grant.

It was at San Diego Comic-Con that Arrow fans first learned that Wildcat, also known as Ted Grant, would be appearing in the third season of Arrow. Now, it’s been revealed that the feisty feline boxer will be played by J.R. Ramirez.

Wildcat, in the DC comics, is known as a character with no superpowers, but does possess world class fighting and boxing abilities. On the show, the character is described as “an ex-boxer who runs a gym for underprivileged youth in Starling City.”

Wildcat is also known in the DC universe as being one of the people to have trained the deadly Black Canary. This has fans speculating that Ramirez’s character will be the one who trains Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) to be the next Black Canary, after her sister Sara. Executive producer Mark Guggenheim teased this possible storyline saying, “There will be some interactions with a new character that we haven’t announced yet…. Her fans will be really, really happy.”

Ramirez is known for playing Dr. Aquino on Emily Owens and has also appeared in House of Payne, Hacienda Heights, 90201, and 24.

Other actors to join the upcoming season of Arrow include Devon Aoki as Katana, Karl Yune as Maseo Yamashiro, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer, and Peter Stormare as Vertigo. In a recent trailer, we learned that this season’s big bad is going to be none other than Ra’s al Ghul – a character whose part has yet to be cast.

What do you think of J.R. Ramirez as Wildcat?
