Zoe Saldana Defends Her "Crossroads" Co-Star Britney Spears
Zoe Saldana stuck up for her "Crossroads" co-star, Britney Spears, during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live."

We already knew that Zoe Saldana is, by far, one of the classiest women in Hollywood. Despite her enormous success with some of the biggest movies in recent years (Avatar, anyone?), she still manages to stay down-to-earth.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star appeared on Watch What Happens Live with the beautiful Laverne Cox. At one point, a caller phoned in and asked Zoe, “Have you seen Britney Spears’ show in Vegas, and have you heard her single without auto tune?”

First of all, Crossroads, which Britney and Zoe appeared in together, came out in 2001. I can see why the caller might have wanted to ask this question, but did she expect Zoe to start bitching about Britney?

Read Zoe’s amazing answer, in full, below:

Well, that’s mean, because I’m pretty sure that 80% of our musical artists would be mortified if they were caught singing without their own Auto-Tune. I haven’t seen her show in Vegas. I have a huge amount of respect for Britney Spears. I’ve always said this and I will always continue to say it: She was the one big, big celebrity that I met when I was starting to work in Hollywood who literally was humble, and whatever was going in her mind, in her world, it was never about hating her neighbor. She was the only pop star at that time, and I can name a lot of prominent figures right now that today are more famous than Britney, that literally got to where they were at by hating on Britney a lot because it was cool at one time to really just diss her, and Britney never did that. And yeah, she had the biggest fan base. I do believe that people and children gravitate to good energy, and she’s definitely an abundance of that.

You can catch Zoe in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, currently in theatres.
