According to reports, original cast members Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang), Mark Salling (Noah Puckerman), Jayma Mays (Emma Pillsbury), and Dianna Agron (Quinn Fabray) will all be back to reprise their roles for Glee season 6.
According to Yahoo, Ushkowitz will be on set to film scenes in the next two weeks, while Salling and Agron are scheduled to start filming some time this month. There’s no word on when Mays will begin.
Ryan Murphy had stated previously that any original cast member who wished to return for the final season was more than welcome. “And my feeling about the last season of Glee is very clear, and that is that we have, or we will be, reaching out to all the regulars on the show — the original group of glee club members and teachers, and anyone who wants to come back,” Murphy said in an interview. “Anyone who wants to be a part of the show, we welcome them.”
This news comes on the heels of fans finding out that season 6 will see the entire cast back in Lima, Ohio where they’ll attempt to revive their high school’s glee club, the New Directions. But, they’ll obviously need students to recruit, which is why the producers are bringing in six fresh new faces to fill those chairs.
We’ve also learned that Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry, will be singing the Frozen hit song, “Let It Go,” sometime during the season premiere. Perhaps the song will be a reflection of Rachel’s feelings about having her Hollywood dreams dashed? It seems likely, but we won’t know anything for sure until the premiere.
Glee‘s sixth and final season will premiere in January 2015.
