Modern Family returns Wednesday night and to get fans excited, ABC has released a brand new clip from the premiere episode.

In the clip from episode 1 “The Long Honeymoon,” the Dunphy family gloats about what an amazing summer they’ve been having. Everyone seems to be in an impossibly good mood, with Claire (Julie Bowen) even claiming that she now likes Phil’s (Ty Burrell) magic. But, middle child Alex (Ariel Winter) has been away building homes on a humanitarian trip. Is the family’s good mood due largely to her absence? How will they handle her return now that summer is coming to an end?

The official synopsis for the the premiere episode says:

This summer has been exceptionally blissful in the Dunphy house, Alex is away on a humanitarian trip and the rest of the family is getting along swimmingly, but when Alex comes home, there is an immediate shift in mood. Elsewhere, Mitch and Cam have returned from their honeymoon and Mitch is acclimating to real life much quicker than the still lovey-dovey Cameron. And, Gloria has taken issue with how little effort Jay puts into his appearance and decides to give him a taste of his own medicine.

Modern Family season 6, episode 1 “The Long Honeymoon” airs September 24 at 9PM on ABC.
