The opening title sequence and official trailer have been released for "American Horror Story: Freak Show"! Watch them both here!

American Horror Story: Freak Show has released the upcoming season’s opening title sequence. If you have to use the bathroom, do it now. Accidents may occur during viewing.

The eerie sequence was tweeted out by the show’s creator Ryan Murphy, one week before the highly-anticipated premiere!

The opening sequence, composed of stop-motion footage, combines the typical AHS music with traditional sounds of a circus. Old toys, which as personifications of the show’s various freaks, are seen moving about the circus grounds as if they’ve come to life, which only serves to solidify this show’s horror status, as if it needed any help in that department.

Also released was the official trailer for Freak Show. In it we learn a little bit more about how Dot and Bette (Sarah Paulson) come to join the freak show with the help of Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange) and how the other freaks cope with the harassment they face from the community.

The Freak Show synopsis teases what’s to come:

American Horror Story: Freak Show begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience.

American Horror Story: Freak Show premieres Wednesday, October 8 at 10PM on FX.
