At that moment, Bolin rushes in with Zhu Li and Suyin to tell them that Kuvira is going to be invading Republic City in 2 weeks with her powerful spirit weapon.

In Asami’s factory, Varrick is overseeing the construction of the flying mecha suits. Bolin comes in, with Zhu Li following close behind. Zhu Li apologies to Varrick for everything that she said. She tells him that he means the world to her. Varrick accepts her apology and tells her to be a good assistant and man the assembly line. Zhu Li snaps and tells him that she is not an assistant and that if he wants her around, he has to treat her as an equal.

Mako begins making a radio address to Republic City, warning them of Kuvira’s impending attack. The phone lines start lighting up as panicked citizens being to call in with questions. Surprisingly, Wu takes over the address and manages to calm everyone down while imparting the severity and urgency of the situation, much to Lin and Mako’s surprise.

Tenzin’s family tells him that they won’t be evacuating with everyone else. They want to stay back and help protect Republic City and their home from the invasion. Pema is tasked with helping Wu with the invasion while Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo are told to help the other airbenders by watching Kuvira’s army from above.

“Kuvira is going to rue the day she messed with Meelo,” the sprightly airbender declares.

Over the next few days, Republic City is almost entirely evacuated as Kuvira’s army prepares to invade. Raiko has been set up on Air Temple Island so that he can command the troops from a relatively safe location.

Korra, Mako, Bolin, and Asami come in and tell Raiko, Lin, and Tenzin that they want to take out Kuvira’s weapon before her army arrives. They plan to sneak behind enemy lines and destroy it before Kuvira can cause any real damage. Raiko agrees that it’s a good plan.

On the outskirts of the United Republic, Kuvira’s army begins approaching a week early. Before the men on guard can alert Republic City, Kuvira uses her spirit weapon, which is attached to an incredibly tall mecha suit, and destroys the base.

Tied up in Asami’s factory, Korra threatens Baatar when she goes into the Avatar State and lifts him off the ground. He calls her bluff, however, and Suyin tries to talk to him.

Meanwhile, Baatar’s airship arrives at Raiko’s location and his crew soon realizes that Baatar is missing. Lin and Raiko are confused by his absence and think Kuvira is playing some sort of trick.

Baatar refuses to listen to Suyin’s pleas for his cooperation. Korra realizes that to get what they want from Baatar, they have to threaten him with what he apparently loves most. Korra tells him that if he doesn’t help them and Kuvira wins, Korra will take Baatar with her wherever she goes and he’ll never see the woman he loves again.

Back on Air Temple Island, Raiko radios with Kuvira and tells her that Baatar is not on the ship. At that moment, Kuvira gets a radio from Baatar who tells her that he’s been captured. She discreetly tells one of her soldiers to find out where the signal is coming from. Baatar tells her that if she tries to take Republic City, Korra will keep them apart. He urges Kuvira to forget their plan to conquer the United Republic and asks that they instead return home and get married.

Kuvira manages to pinpoint the radio signal and turns her weapon on the factory, despite her declaration that she loves Baatar. Mako notices Kuvira’s approach and warns everyone. Korra tells everyone to get out right away and the destructive beam hits the building before they can escape. Will Korra and her friends survive a near-direct hit from Kuvira’s powerful spirit weapon?
