Bloomsbury and Scholastic have been really good about sharing updates and new images from the soon-to-be-released fully-illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Sorcerer’s Stone for North Americans). But, as it turns out, these latest images of the inside of the book come from an outside source.
The images below were posted to Imgur by a user named “SteampunkBrit” who has “an Aunt that works in the industry.” Often times, early preview copies are sent out to people in the publishing world to generate some early buzz.
Up to this point, we’ve already seen some of illustrator Jim Kay‘s gorgeous pictures, but never in the book alongside J.K. Rowling‘s magnificent writing.
Obviously, I’m a little late to this gravy train, because the photos were posted over a month ago on the image sharing website. But, the photos, and the anticipation they bring for a new addition to our Harry Potter collections, more than make up for any tardiness.
The illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will be released on October 6, 2015
Will you be picking up a copy of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” when it’s released?
