In the category of “Why Didn’t I Think Of That?” I present to you this life-sized Benedict Cumberbatch sculpture made entirely out of chocolate.

The sculpture (released only a few days before Easter) was created by UKTV to celebrate the launch of its new TV station focused primarily on drama series:

Why Cumberbatch, you ask? Well, the Sherlock star won a contest in which fans were invited to vote for their favourite British actor. Other contenders included David Tennant, Sean Bean, Damian Lewis, and Idris Elba.

The statue – affectionately known as “Chocobatch” – was created by a team of 8 and made from over 500 chocolate bars.

“The striking thing about Benedict is that he’s got quite a thin face but he’s got a large head,” Tim Simpson, one of the eight sculptures said. “So trying to get that look right is quite tricky.”
