You love them separately, but did you ever think that you would be able to love them together? Sheldon’s mother, Mary Cooper (Laurie Metcalf), and Leonard’s mother, Dr. Beverly Hofstadter (Christine Baranski), will appear in an episode together for the first time in the The Big Bang Theory‘s eight seasons.
In case you’re not in-the-know, Sheldon’s mother is a bible thumping Christian – the polar-opposite of her genius, scientist son. Leonard’s mother is a distant intellectual who’d rather psychoanalyze her son’s behaviour than give him a hug or a birthday party.
As it turns out, both friend’s mothers are the exact kind of parental figure that the other always wanted.
The first time we met Mary Cooper was in season one when Leonard called her to get her help after Sheldon was fired from his job at the university:
Leonard’s mother, on the other hand, casually told Leonard that his father and her were getting a divorce when viewers first met her:
The episode is scheduled to air on April 30 on CBS.
