Sheldon + Amy Are Finally Going To Do "It" On "The Big Bang Theory," Says Show's EP
The moment that millions of "The Big Bang Theory" fans have been waiting for is just around the corner!

Perhaps one of the most prominent sub-plots from The Big Bang Theory is that fan-favourite couple, Sheldon and Amy (also known to shippers everywhere as Shamy), have never taken their five year relationship to the next level. I’m talking about “coitus.”

When the pair broke up, it seemed as if Amy’s fantasy of finally knocking boots with Sheldon were all but flushed down the toilet. As the two have tried to move on from each other and the love that we all knew was there, though Sheldon tried many times to deny it, it has become clear to many that they just aren’t suited for anybody but each other.

The show’s executive producer, Steve Molaro, released a statement regarding the upcoming scene, which is set to air during the December 17 episode. “After over five years of dating, we felt the time was right for Sheldon and Amy to finally consummate their relationship,” said Molaro. “And we’re so excited for the audience to see the journey over the next several episodes.”

Whether or not this means the couple is destined to get back together relatively soon remains to be seen. One thing is for certain, however: The Big Bang Theory fans have been waiting for this episode for a long time (almost as long as Amy Farrah Fowler).

You can catch The Big Bang Theory Thursday nights at 8/7C on CBS.
