Melissa McCarthy Says She Wasn't Asked To Join Netflix's "Gilmore Girls" Revival
On Tueday, Melissa McCarthy took to Twitter to reveal to "Gilmore Girls" fans that she was not asked to join Netflix's revival of the popular series.

This is some sad news, Gilmore Girls fans.

Earlier, Amy Sherman-Palladino, the show’s creator, discussed the fact that she would love to have Melissa McCarthy – who played Sookie St. James – return for Netflix‘s revival. Now, it seems like McCarthy herself has a different version of what’s been going on.

McCarthy took to Twitter on Tuesday, in response to a tweet from a fan, and said that “no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow.”

Here’s the full tweet:

Sherman-Palladino has assured everyone that Sookie’s absence will be explained properly should the A-list star choose not to return. But, it seems like there’s some sort of miscommunication going on behind-the-scenes.

I just hope for the sake of Gilmore Girls fans everywhere that Sookie makes her way back to Stars Hollow for one last hurrah!
