J.K. Rowling ‘Avada Kedavras’ Christian group for homophobic Tom Daley tweet

You can always count on J.K. Rowling to defend people from ignorance. In this case, the "Harry Potter" author took to Twitter to defend Tom Daley from homophobic tweets.

There are haters, and then there are haters. Unfortunately, some groups will find any opportunity to push their homophobic and ignorant agenda.

A Christian group posted an anti-gay message on Twitter after 22-year-old Olympic diver, Tom Daley, failed to qualify for the 10-meter platform finals at Rio 2016:

“Turning gay doesn’t seem to have done Tom Daley any favours at #Rio2016,” they wrote on Twitter.

Thankfully, there are angels amongst us, and in this case, they took the form of J.K. Rowling. When the Harry Potter author caught wind of the groups tweet, she took to Twitter to defend Daley:

“Can’t decide which is more offensive in this tweet, the stupidity or the spite,” Rowling wrote

Naturally, Twitter users from all over the world followed in the author and advocate’s footsteps by tweeting their own support to Daley and condemning the Christian group’s hateful words.
