Football: Cristiano Ronaldo out from Portugal team after rape claims!

Coming as a big shock to many in the football arena, Cristiano Ronaldo has been left out of the Portugal football team after rape allegations by a former model. Kathryn Mayorga, 34, has claimed that the current Juventus footballer raped her, in Las Vegas, back in 2009.

However, Ronaldo has denied such accusations by Ms. Mayorga.

Portugal national football team, however, decided to keep the former Real Madrid star out of their squad for the next two games, after the Las Vegas police also announced to re-open a case involving Kathryn Mayorga.

This means that the Portugal national team will be playing without their star player in the upcoming game against Poland in the UEFA Nations League, next Thursday and in another friendly game against Scotland three days later.

Portugal coach, Fernando Santos has also said that the accused footballer won’t be called for the next round of international matches in the next month. But he told that this decision was taken after a discussion between him, Ronaldo and the head of Portuguese Football Federation himself.

As far as the allegations by Kathryn Mayorga are concerned, she has filed a lawsuit against Ronaldo, seeking to void a $375,000 non-disclosure agreement, which she was forced to sign. She claims that the Portuguese footballer raped her in Las Vegas, in June 2009, and is now seeking $200,000 in damages.

About the claims made by Kathryn Mayorga, the Las Vegas police department told that it has responded to a call regarding a case of sexual assault on 13 June 2009, and has now re-opened that case.

AWKwAFINA To Be The First ASIAN WOMAN To Host ‘SNL’ In Almost 20 Years

The famous late-night lives television variety show in America currently on its 44th season has jazzed up the attention of its audience by posting the line-up of its first 3 shows on twitter.  The post showed that the SNL host for this weekend would be Adam Driver with Kanye West as the musical guest.

FIRST ASIAN WOMAN TO HOST ‘SNL’ IN ALMOST 20 YEARS

The weekend of October 6th would be hosted by Awkwafina and Travis Scott as the musical guest. And the third show as mentioned in the post would be hosted by the late-night show host Seth Meyers with the musical guest Paul Simon.

What really has caught the attention of the viewers is the host for the October 6th show. Ocean’s 8 and a recent hit movie, Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina would be the first Asian woman to host SNL in almost 20 years. The last time SNL saw an Asian woman was when Lucy Liu hosted the show with Jay-Z in the musical act back in 2000.

With two hit releases and making history by hosting SNL, Awkwafina has made sure that 2018 be her year and that she isn’t stopping anytime soon. The said rapper and comedian had worked very hard and deserves every bit of attention and respect she is getting.

For the record, SNL is not the only platform where the said star is a part of history. She recently starred in Crazy Rich Asians, the first Hollywood movie with an all Asian cast and Asian-American lead in 25 years.

The movie was a huge success both critically and on the box office. The movie was highly praised for removing the Asian stereotype portrayed by Hollywood as is believed to set a new and a progressive path for Hollywood and eventually make way for many more talented Asian actors to get an equal opportunity like an American actor.

After the release of the film the actress told the Hollywood reporter “this is an entire ensemble cast of talented Asian and American and British and Australian individuals that are doing things and changing the industry in their own way and we’re out there and we exist”. The movie opened better than any other rom-com since 2015 release trainwreck.

And by the second week, the movie had gained another $25 million almost the same as its first weekly gain. “People didn’t believe we’d make as much as we did in the first weekend. In Hollywood they might have thought minority movies can’t bring it in,” said the comedian.

When asked how Hollywood can improve the representation of Asians on-screen, the actress came up with a powerful response saying,” representation starts both in front and behind the camera. I think the big reason there aren’t a lot of our stories reflected is that people don’t know how to write for us or think they can’t write for us.

So I think for any minority group you need to have writers who can reflect those stories and tell them honestly. It’s important to give people a chance. Take a chance on opening up roles even leads for actors of color.”

Movies like Crazy Rich Asians, Black Panther and Girls trip have surely opened the gates for minority communities to Hollywood but Hollywood still has to go a long way to remove the stereotypes set by themselves and come up with equal opportunities for the actors of color.

JOKER: Former DC chief Diane Nelson deletes Twitter account after angst from fans

The ‘World of DC’ is really going through a shaky patch, at the moment, though the future looks hopeful. But the current scenario inside and outside the DC Entertainment and Warner Bros., is all about negativities, thanks to social media.

The new case is of former DC Entertainment chief, Diane Nelson, who has deleted her Twitter account following a backlash from the fans on posts supporting the upcoming Joker movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the next clown prince of DC.

Joker is the only project which has quickly gone into production since Walter Hamada became the new president of DC after Diane Nelson left in June, earlier this year.

Nelson was also among those who were impressed by the official reveal of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck aka Joker in his make-up photos, a few days ago. So, she wrote that she loved the look and praised the director’s vision (Phillip Todd), the talented actor (Joaquin Phoenix). And she also wrote that Joker movie’s what DC should have been doing after The Dark Knight trilogy of Chris Nolan, years ago.

After this, many of the followers, being DC fans, took her post in a different perspective and thought that she was blaming Zack Snyder’s vision for the failure of earlier DCEU films-which isn’t true at all.

So, to clarify things, she also responded to the hate comments by writing, that she really admires Zack Snyder the way she likes Christopher Nolan, as both of them have made memorable films.
But the hate comments continued even after her trying to make sort out the complications. And then she blocked the comments from non-confirmed followers on her posts, the picture of which you can see, below.

But later, her remarks about favoring Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker also made many DC fans and followers furious, which ultimately forced her to delete her account permanently. Many fans are not happy with Joaquin Phoenix as the new Joker.

Well, the cases of big names in the industry deactivating their social media accounts have slightly increased. Before Diane Nelson, Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Kelly Marie Tran deactivated her Instagram account, after being bullied and Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown had also closed her Twitter account due to similar reasons.

Most recently, before Diane Nelson, actress Ruby Rose also left Twitter after being bullied for being cast as the Batwoman for this year’s upcoming Arrowverse crossover.

These things are very wrong for the entertainment industry as hatred and negative reactions from users have gone onto a totally different extension, which is dark and dangerous.
