12 people injured after Qatar Airways plane hits turbulence on flight to Dublin

LONDON (AP) — Twelve folks have been injured when a Qatar Airways airplane flying from Doha to Dublin on Sunday hit turbulence, airport authorities stated. Eight of the injured have been hospitalized.

Dublin Airport stated in a press release that flight QR017, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, landed safely as scheduled earlier than 1 p.m. (1200 GMT).

It stated that upon touchdown the plane was met by emergency companies, together with airport police and the fireplace and rescue division, “as a result of six passengers and 6 crew … reporting accidents after the plane skilled turbulence whereas airborne over Turkey.”

The airport stated all passengers have been assessed for accidents aboard the airplane, and eight have been then taken to hospital.

Passenger Paul Mocc informed Irish broadcaster RTE that he noticed “folks hitting the roof” and food and drinks flying in all places.

Qatar Airways stated in a press release that “a small variety of passengers and crew sustained minor accidents in flight and are actually receiving medical consideration.”

It stated “the matter is now topic to an inner investigation.”

The incident comes 5 days after a British man died of a suspected coronary heart assault and dozens of individuals have been injured when a Singapore Airways flight from London hit extreme turbulence.
