‘Jawan’ movie review: Shah Rukh Khan is spectacular in Atlee’s socially-charged thriller
The opening scene is one for the ages. A wounded soldier makes a full recovery somewhere along India’s northern frontiers. He is performing CPR in a hostile and picturesque community where people have been shot, stabbed, and drowned in a brook. As the sky rumbles, the soldier ascends like a messiah and descends with a spear. His face is still covered in gauze, so we can’t see it, but his eyes tell us everything. The staging is magnificent, mythical, and surrounded by gloom. A blazing horse may be seen darting across the screen as well. It makes sense why Hideo Kojima, a Japanese video game designer, couldn’t contain his joy on social media. Jawan is, despite what it may sound like, the Shah Rukh Khan movie that most closely resembles Metal Gear.

Review of the film “Pathaan”: Shah Rukh Khan triumphs in this spectacle without secrets
Since 2019, Tamil filmmaker Atlee has been hinting towards a movie starring Khan. It’s not the first time a seasoned southern director and a well-known Bollywood actor have collaborated on an action movie with contentious sociopolitical issues (Atlee’s guru, Shankar, perhaps paved the path). But there might be more to this partnership than first appears. The characters of Atlee frequently have aliases and doubles. Vijay in Theri was hiding his various identities in one body, whilst Vijay in Mersaland Bigil was hiding them in multiple bodies. Notably, the latter two movies were complex, convoluted father-and-son dramas. All of this cries out for Khan, who is Hindi cinema’s biggest magnet for multi-role films, only being surpassed by Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar.
(In Hindi) Jawan
In charge: Atlee
Cast: Sanya Malhotra, Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Priyamani, and Sunil Grover
Time of Play: 169 minutes
Storyline: In an exciting collision of the past and present, a vigilante and his crew fight against corrupt institutions while cohabitating with a lethal arms dealer.
After that spectacular beginning, 30 years later, we catch up with Khan as he hijacks a Mumbai metro train. He is now portraying a silly, wisecracking vigilante with a bald head. He is supported by a group of female warriors, the most of whom have names and some of whom are elite, have backstories. Alia, the daughter of a dead-eyed arms dealer named Kaali (Vijay Sethupathi sporting a terrible beard), is also on the train. Spoilers ahead: It’s soon revealed that Azad Rathore, the warden of a high-security women’s prison and part-time ethical terrorist, is actually Khan in the present era. The fearless negotiator Narmada (Nayanthara), whom Azad was singing pleas to while spearheading the hijack, is also the bride-to-be.

Shah Rukh Khan of Bollywood and his family offer prayers at the Lord Venkateswara shrine in Tirumala
There are enough Shah Rukh Khans for the cost of one ticket, but I won’t say exactly how many you receive in Jawan. Khan, 57, is mostly an entertainer, yet his best performances throughout the years have been marked by brief bursts of menace and malice. He turns to his quasi-antihero avatar with great relish because, as the price of being a successful megastar, he can no longer commit to being an outright evil. He smiles, more in self-regard than as a threat, “When I become a villain, the heroes don’t stand a chance.” Although Jawan isn’t as ethically complicated or hard as Fan or Baazigar, it nonetheless pushes the boundaries of its star’s acting abilities. Khan is a good, upright, and ideal citizen. Also checked: the grizzled, cigar-chomping, Wolverine-recalling Khan.
Jawan’s action is as skillfully convincing as you’d anticipate from a high-end Atlee production. The director plunders the whole library of Hollywood-style action movies for drones, helicopters, and gatling guns. Apart from some slick hops and kicks by Khan, what really sells these set pieces are the smudges of Indianness painted throughout the vast canvas. The thought of one of the hijackers driving away from the site of the crime thrilled me. Or perhaps a flashback in which Deepika Padukone (in a significant cameo) slams Khan in the mud. Atlee bases his action on urgent social justice rage, exactly like in his previous movies. Khan starts his own Clean India campaign, attacking each failing institution in turn, starting with agriculture and moving on to healthcare and (in a more tactful and courteous manner) defense. The term “deshdrohi” (traitor) is applied to at least three different characters as the movie repeatedly emphasizes how pernicious such accusations are.

Review of the movie “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” Jawan is also a movie in love with other movies since Salman Khan makes fun of himself in the foolish action drama. Fans of Bollywood and Hollywood will enjoy playing spot the reference. Khan’s vigilante includes hints of The Joker, Darkman, and even Dennis Hopper from Speed before his eventual goal is revealed. Given that Kaali is trying to undermine the system, I think it’s a clever idea for him to literally hand out red and blue tablets. A Russian crime boss wearing the Bane mask appears. The best allusions, like in Pathaan, are to Khan’s own filmography. Kaveri Amma is the name of the adopted mother of Azad (Riddhi Dogra), and Khan’s adoptive mother in Swades (2004). Similar nods are made to Duplicate, Main Hoon Na, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, and—perhaps most aptly—these films.
Not all things fly. The second half features an increase of Atlee-style melodrama. Even with Anirudh Ravichander’s best efforts, the songs sound unoriginal (the forgettable Arijit Singh song “Chaleya” has a better Arabic rendition on YouTube). But in the latter sequences, Vijay Sethupathi really lets loose and is hilarious. In contrast to how the movie would have her fall in love with Khan, Nayanthara coolly underplays the role of the stereotypical heroine. But the audience is completely enthralled.

Back India vs Bharat renaming row: Opposition reacts, Centre supports and netizens confused
People have begun to react on it on social media as the invitation to a G20 summit dinner with the phrase “President of Bharat” written on it comes under fire from the government and opposition parties.
The most recent invitation for the dinner on September 9 went viral earlier in the day and referred to President Droupadi Murmu as the “President of Bharat.”

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan published a picture of the invitation along with the words “Jana Gana Mana Adhinayak Jaya He, Bharat Bhagya Vidhata” and the hashtag “#PresidentOfBharat” on social media site X (formerly known as Twitter).
Below is the tweet:
After the tweet, the opposition leaders questioned the government’s motivation and said that the “Union of States” was being attacked.
Jairam Ramesh, the general secretary of the Congress, cited Article 1 of the Constitution on his microblogging website and charged the administration with undermining the concept of a Union of States.

“So the news is true,” he wrote. Instead of the customary “President of India,” Rashtrapati Bhawan sent out an invitation for a G20 luncheon on September 9th in the name of “President of Bharat.”
“Now, Article 1 of the Constitution can read: ‘Bharat, which was India, shall be a Union of States,” he asserted. But currently, even this “Union of States” is being attacked.
Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, on Tuesday questioned the “flustered” BJP on whether it would change the name of Bharat in the event that the opposition alliance INDIA changed its name to “Bharat.”
I don’t have any verified information about this. I’ve heard some rumors. Why is this taking place? It is claimed that this is taking place as a result of our formation of the INDIA alliance. There are 140 crore citizens of this nation, not just one political party. Will they also alter the name of Bharat if INDIA alliance renames itself Bharat? asked Kejriwal.
“This is such a farce! This is where we live. “Our culture is old,” he continued.
DMK leader and Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin responded to the controversy by criticizing the BJP, saying, “BJP promised to TRANSFORM India, but all we got is a name change after 9 years.”
After the fascist BJP administration was overthrown by non-BJP forces, who rightly dubbed their alliance #INDIA, he stated, “Now the BJP wants to replace ‘India’ for ‘Bharat.’
India was supposed to be transformed, but after nine years, all we got was a name change! It appears that the BJP is terrified by the word “India” because they recognize the power of the opposition’s cohesion. “India” will drive the BJP out of power during the elections!”
Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, questioned the necessity to “suddenly use only Bharat” when speaking of India in a formal statement.
“I’ve heard that the name of India is changing. Bharat is written on the G20 invitation that was sent out under the honorable president’s name. In Hindi, we say “Bharat ka Samvidhan,” while in English we say “India and the Indian Constitution.” ‘Bharat’ is a word we all use; what new is there? She spoke.
“Nothing new needs to be done. Our nation is known as India. What unexpected event caused the necessity to change the country’s name? It was her.
According to Supriya Shrinate, the Congress’s chair of social media and digital platforms, “Article 1 of the Constitution states that we would be called as both India and Bharat. The truth is that the PM is genuinely terrified and terrified of INDIA, which is why, in an effort to counteract us, he is prepared to change the name of our nation. Who decides to alter the nation’s name? And the PM is attempting to achieve that. You may despise us (the INDIA coalition), consider us to be your political rivals, but why start a war with India? The problems that afflict India also afflict Bharat.
“We’ve never seen invitations going out in the name of ‘President of Bharat’, it is always ‘President of India’ or ‘Prime Minister of India,'” DMK MP Kanimozhi stated in response to the ‘President of Bharat’ on the G20 summit dinner invitation. Why did they do this at this time? What purpose does it serve? What politics are at play here? Despite being in the Constitution for so long, nobody ever used it. The RSS chairman recently opined that India’s name has to be altered. Many questions arise after reading this after that. Is RSS dictating policy for the entire country? We are unsure of the purpose for calling a special session of Parliament. We are unaware of the plan of action.
Furthermore, Union Minister of State Meenakshi Lekhi stated, “This name is bestowed by our ancestors…The territory north of the Samudra and south of the Himalayas is referred to as “Bharat” in the book “Vishnupuran.”
In addition, on September 5th, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan joined the cause by posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the message “Bharat Mata Ki Jai (victory to Mother India).”

What you Need to Consider Before Choosing a Dance School?
Do you want to take your love for dancing to another level? Then it is time that you find the right dance school that can help you polish your skills and help you emerge as a great dancer.
For people, dancing is a form of art and for some; it is a way to relieve stress. Whatever the case, if you want to enhance your skills and learn new techniques the proper way, the instructor you choose will play a crucial role.
People have lots of choices when it comes to choosing a dance school. However, with more options, the more overwhelming it gets when selecting a dance school. The Best Dance School in Kolkata will provide your child with all the amenities to develop his/her skill.
With that said, here are some pointers to keep in mind when choosing a dance school to pursue the hobby further.
Let’s get started.
#1 The quality of dance education
In the modern-day and age, the majority of the dance schools in Kolkata aren’t just limited to teaching and practicing just a single dance form. The best schools offer classes for a variety of dance forms and types including Bollywood Dance, Creative Dance Forms like Rabindra Nritya, and Indian Classical Dance Forms like Kathak and Bharatanatyam. Since the forms are diverse, it is important to determine whether the dance school you are opting for is capable of teaching you the dance form you want with perfection.
Dance education requires the skill of highly trained, motivated, and qualified choreographers and educators to teach and get the most out of the students. That means it requires a well-developed, age-appropriate curriculum. The majority of the dance classes rely on the skills of the choreographers and dance teachers to create guidelines, structure, choreography, and curriculum for individual classes of different types.
Thus, it is important that the dance school you choose for you or your child must incorporate experienced and quality educators. The role of experienced educators becomes highly important if there’s a specific dance form that you want to learn or master with perfection.
#2 Choose a dance school based on your goals
This is the most important aspect to consider when choosing a dance school in Kolkata. Why do you want to learn dancing? Is it to take part in dance competitions? Or want to upgrade or polish on skills that you are already aware of? Most dance schools prepare students for competitions where they enter into local, regional, and national dancing events. If you want to take part in dancing events, you would need a dance school with instructors who are dedicated to training you for the competition. On the other hand, if you just want to pursue dancing as a hobby and want to learn as many forms as you want, you can look for a dance studio, which deals in this aspect.
Some dance schools provide opportunities for young dancers to take part in top-notch training that prepares the students for a professional career in performing arts. Such schools are renowned for training critically acclaimed dancers who are now spreading the dance form in various parts of the country.
#3 The size of the class also matters
If you were training for the competition, you would want an environment where you could spend more time with the instructor. However, if the class you are in have plenty of other students as well, it will be difficult for the instructor to focus on you. So the size of the class also matters. Before you enrol for a dance class, ensure that the strength of the class is under the minimum so that you can
practice in a better environment.
On the other hand, if you are just learning how to dance, or as part of your exercise regime, the strength of the class doesn’t matter. In such type of classes, the instructors focus more on making every student move rather than correcting them. The goal of such classes is to make students sweat while having fun.
So, you need to be clear which class you will be taking.
#4 Can I watch the dance class
For parents, who are concerned about their children’s daily progress, some dance studios allow them to sit in on each and every class. This is especially for children who are just toddlers or still too small for the platform. Parents can keep an eye on their children and make sure that they are adapting the change that has been implemented in their lifestyle. Well, it doesn’t require parents to be in each and every class of their child. They are relieved once their child starts getting used to the environment and make a few friends. But still, if you are concerned about this aspect, you need to search for a dance school that allows parents to be there, at least for a couple of weeks.
