Since the E3 gaming event this July, the gamers were waiting for the hot new titles to add to their PS4 collections. And now that each of the most-awaited games is out for the consoles, there’s a lot of complication-because most of the new releases are the best so far in 2018. Still, some are so good that they have an upper edge over their counterparts.
A lot of new versions or reboots of existing franchises have also impressed every gaming analyst, critic and online reviewing portal. But the ones we thought have an upper hand, are really loaded with quality gaming experience, character developments, emotional quotients and what not!
Here are the TOP PS4 games of 2018 you just can’t miss!
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Developed by Eidos Montreal, in a collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, and published by Square Enix, the rebooted trilogy’s finale to Lara Croft’s journey is a joyride for those who are in love with the #1 female gaming icon. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the perfect ending to a story which started in 2013 when a new life was infused into the character and it was a phenomenon that made Lara more than being just a sex symbol, as far as her ‘old and desirable looks’ are concerned.
And this last entry into the now popular gaming series is the best tribute to a fantastic adventurous protagonist. The experience of the gaming atmosphere this game gives you is amazing where you can really see and discover the natural forests, wildlife and culture, playing as Lara.
Release Date: Already released on September 14th 2018.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Yes, this game is yet to arrive but it’s the highly awaited one. The series has fascinated the gamers in every way possible, especially the characters’ journey. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a western-themed action/adventure, being developed and published by Rockstar Games (also known for Max Payne series).
The game is a prequel to the original game and overall the third installment in its trilogy.
The early impressions have been remarkable where it’s improvised gameplay has been praised a lot. Some new modes and features have also been added this time to provide you a real interaction with the characters, surroundings, and their localities.
Release Date: October 26th, 2018.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
This is one gaming series which never ceases to woo us. Be it any version, but the levels and missions seem to be getting more intriguing one after the other. And Assassin’s Creed Odyssey just takes it all on a whole new level of detailing and picturesque settings-along with some exceptional gameplay.
This time you also get an option (very much needed) to play either as a male (Alexios) or female (Kassandra). And the way the characters are portrayed combining facial expressions and voices, is commendable. You see it everywhere throughout the gameplay. In-between cinematic sequences also prove to be great in this one.
A must have for the die-hard Assassin’s Creed fans. AC: Odyssey is developed by Ubisoft Quebec and published by Ubisoft.
Release Date: Already released on October 5th 2018.
By far the best entry in the Spider-Man gaming universe. And every gaming critic and online reviewing portal seems to love Marvel’s new Spider-Man, who is also a lot of Peter Parker! Yes, for the first time the gamers have got the chance of really connecting with their beloved childhood superhero in a never-seen-before, fresh take.
Along with the brilliant gameplay, you want to connect with Parker in an emotional way too-now that’s the highest praise, that a game can get, right?
And that ending! Everyone’s talking about that final ending; not a single gamer who’s completed the game can stop crying. You want to know why? Just grab the game copy now and you’ll know it. It just rattles you so much that you even forget for a while that you are a gamer-the music/soundtrack also plays a part here.
The game is developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Release Date: Already Released on September 7th 2018.
God of War
The sequel to 2010’s GOW III, and eighth entry in the series overall, the new God of War can be described in just one word as being awesome. It hasn’t got anything that goes against it. That means the game story, character building, gameplay, fantastic action quality and all that it offers.
As far as the story setting is concerned, where it’s predecessors were loosely based on Greek mythology, the latest GOW is based on Norse mythology (don’t think too much; you won’t be seeing Thor here).
Kratos is a popular and beloved protagonist in this franchise and the fans of him will love him even more, along with his son, Atreus. Together they go on a journey to fulfill a promise of Kratos’s second wife (and mother of Atreus), of spreading her ashes at the highest peak of the nine realms. In this journey, they must overcome every monster and gods of the Norse world.
The game is developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
