Keeping our skin healthy during these colder seasons means taking care of it from the outside as well. This implies eating healthy food and sleeping enough. 

Eat foods that are good for your skin, food that is rich in vitamins and minerals that can keep your skin healthy and glowing. One such food is fish – salmon, herring, to name a few. Fish is rich in omega-3 fatty acids that can keep our skin supple and moisturized. 

Vitamin C is the vitamin our body and skin need during winter times as vitamin C is known to increase collagen production.

When it comes to sleep, being relaxed and having a good nights sleep can also benefit your skin. If you lack sleep, your body creates larger amounts of the stress hormone cortisol which in turn increases stress and inflammation in our body. The inflammation affects our skins’ moisture levels. So, as you can see, sleep can also contribute to the health of our skin.

Every season brings different problems and benefits to our skin. During fall/winter months the temperatures are a bit lower and most skin types have problems with hydration. Because of this our skincare routine needs a little more boost.
