Leftists' Attempt to 'Shut Down DC' After Election To Drive Trump From Office

Shut Down DC, established in 2019, states that “Driving Trump from office is the only way to defend ourselves and the people we love from Trump’s wrath, so we will act with the urgency that the situation demands” including “disruptive direct action, mass mobilization, concerted non-compliance, mutual assistance, and other forms of civil resistance.” Code Pink, Black Lives Matter DC, and Democratic Socialists of America are identified by Influence Watch as endorsing organizations for Shut Down DC. NATIONAL FILE obtained a tip on Young ‘s activities from citizen journalist Nate Linderman.

Here’s some propaganda from Shut Down DC ‘s website that explains their preparations for post-Chaos Day:

“There is absolutely no possibility that the 2020 elections will be determined on 3 November or elsewhere shortly afterward…

And a significant number of ballots would not have been counted on election day. In the 2020 voting cycle, a record number of electors are projected to vote by mail due to the COVID-19 virus. It will take days or even weeks for those votes to be counted in several states. In reality, thirteen states and the District of Columbia allow mail-in ballots after election day if they are properly stamped …

On 6 January 2021, the newly elected 117th Congress will meet to open the voting accounts of the State Electoral College and certify the results of the 2020 presidential election. If one or more states send two different votes, the Congress would have to determine which vote to approve (or reject) them. If one candidate wins a majority of the votes of the electoral college (currently 270) that candidate becomes the next president of the United States.

If neither candidate obtains 270 votes, the next President shall be chosen by the House of Representatives and the next Vice-President shall be named by the Senate. Importantly, the House votes on a one-state one-vote basis, so that the vote of one member of the Montana House of Representatives has the same weight as that of the entire California House Delegation. While Democrats have a clear majority in the House of Representatives, there are currently 26 States with Republican Majorities in their House Delegations and 23 States with Democratic Majorities in their House Delegations. But this vote will be taken by the newly elected 117th Congress, not the existing 116th Congress, so if Democrats pick up seats in a handful of key states, the balance might easily change …

The November election is expected to be more contentious and unpredictable than any previous US election. Although the total number of votes is undoubtedly a vital factor that will determine the outcome, more than ever, the very political issues of how and when the votes are counted and who determines when the results should be certified are likely to be just as powerful.

In 2000, Democrats ordered their base to stay home when lawyers find out about stuff in the back room. Republicans sent their workers to Florida to riot and avoid counting the ballots.

Donald Trump is already working hard to sow chaos, depress voter turnout, and call the election outcome into question. This time around, we can’t afford to wait for attorneys to get stuff done. Instead, those of us who are determined to see Donald Trump removed from office should start preparing now to fight back against the Trump administration ‘s concerted attempts to discredit voters, hit the streets in key states where election results are likely to be challenged, and be ready to take bold direct action to bring Washington, DC to a standstill if Trump refuses to admit …

But we also know that the only way to defend ourselves and the people we love from Trump’s wrath is to drive Trump out of office, so we will act with the urgency that the situation demands …

While we value everyone’s right to protect themselves and the people they love, we understand that the police and military forces that could be mobilised to help the Trump regime have a much greater potential for violence than we could ever imagine.

Without making value judgments on the tactical approaches that other individuals and organizations can want to follow, we intend to use the tools and tactical approaches that we have the capacity and expertise to implement, including disruptive direct action, mass mobilization, concerted non-compliance, mutual assistance and other types of civil resistance …
