The Squad calls on the UN to investigate the human rights abuses of DHS
In a development that can only be seen as ridiculous, a group of progressive politicians, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and The Team, wrote a letter to the United Nations urging the helpless world body to launch an investigation into the exploitation of illegal immigrant prisoners by ICE officers.
The five-page letter was sent Friday and included a list of false allegations and concerns that the existence and “sheer number” of the concerns “essential and international response.”
“These claims highlight a strong trend of alleged human rights abuses by DHS,” reads the document. “This pattern of conduct is perpetuated and promoted by the consistent and unforgivable failure of the Government of the United States and its agencies to take these allegations seriously by investigating them in an open, rigorous and unbiased manner.”

The letter was signed by Congressional Progressive Caucus Co-Chairman Mark Pocan (D-WI), as well as “Squad” freshmen Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN), as well as Reps. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA), Alan Lowenthal (D-CA) and Veronica Escobar (D-TX).
The move came after the President was questioned during the last presidential debate about rumours that the parents of 545 children who were separated at the border were missing. Records indicate that both of these minors had been released to a lawful parent or guardian before June 2018.
The letter to Michelle Bachelet, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, contained claims of forced sterilization of female illegal immigrants.
The Office of the Inspector General, which has an independent supervisory power in the US Department of Homeland Security, has released a statement that, in part, it is red: “The allegations will be thoroughly reviewed by an independent office, but ICE vigorously denies the suggestion that prisoners are used in experimental medical procedures.”
During World War II, the Nazi SS under Dr. Josef Mengele carried out barbarous medical experiments and research on prisoners of war. These atrocities were exposed when US Army soldiers liberated death camps all over Europe. These atrocities led to the Nuremberg Trials.
Meanwhile, President Trump announced the opening of the DHS Centre for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, the first government agency to support federal criminal investigations into trafficking in human beings and to assist victims of human trafficking and forced labor.
