How Do You Know If You Have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)?

Psychological trauma is any physical or psychological threat to an individual’s physical integrity, sense of self, safety or physical survival. An individual might experience trauma because of sexual, emotional or physical abuse. Exposure to severe natural disasters, the occurrence of war, abandonment and witness to violence such as domestic violence can also cause trauma. It would be worth noting that this is not the entirety of the possible causes of trauma.

PTSD is a chronic state in which an individual’s neurophysiological responses become aroused when faced by a ‘possible threat’. The individual will then exhibit a combination of physical symptoms which can include hyperactive alertness, agitation, heavy or difficult breathing avoidance of both physical and emotional contact with others.

The threat is a single or a set of circumstances that remind the individual of the initial traumatic experience. The individual will thus try to avoid any situation that he/ she views as a threat. This behavior becomes worse over time as the sensitivity to the threats increases.

Severe psychological stress favors the production of cortisol, a hormone that increases the blood sugar levels. The sugar provides the energy required for either flight or fight (a natural body reaction to a perceived threat, whether real or imagined). Cortisol also greatly suppresses the functioning of endocrine system. The endocrine system is a set of glands that produce chemicals essential for the various body metabolisms such as digestion, tissue function, growth, development and mood.

This is why individuals suffering from PTSD exhibit symptoms such as a reduced motivation to have fun, increased isolation and increased anxiety in social meetings. Other signs that indicate an individual is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder include aggression, emotional irritability and general poor health. Therefore, it is vital to indulge in activities that will help you to overcome the disorder. One of the major signs is the emotional and physical (over) reaction to a situation, where the person for example screams and runs away because they were approached from behind.

To overcome Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, if symptoms have persisted over more than one month is to seek professional help. There are other things that can be done to help, but it is important to accept that the symptoms are a natural reaction to unusual circumstances. Participating in enjoyable activities can be very beneficial, giving you some “time-out”. These activities should however not be too challenging as this would decrease their enjoyment. Learning meditation techniques such as yoga can also play a vital role in alleviating the condition. But never forget to get the help from a professional if symptoms persist.

The truth is that you can make money online without having to do any work. However, it will not happen overnight and it will take some time before you start seeing results.

If you are willing to put in the time and effort then there is no reason why you cannot start to see some profits.

If you have been on the internet for a while now then you have probably seen a lot of different business opportunities. However, the overwhelming majority of these businesses require you to invest a lot of your time and money into them.

So you ask, “How can I make this kind of money?” I am going to tell you.

First, if you are looking at making money on the internet then you should have a website or at least a blog. This will be your hub for everything that you do. It is also where you will be marketing your products and driving traffic to your site.

There are a lot of different ways to get traffic on the internet. However, you need to know which ones are the proven ones. For example, pay per click advertising is one of the most common ways of driving traffic to your site.

This requires you to spend money on advertising. A lot of times, this will not yield a lot of money but it can help you build a decent list.

You will also have to put up with a lot of traffic snags when you first get started. This is because you have just gotten started. This means that you are still trying to figure out how to make money online.

You may not know it yet, but that is going to be the case for a while.

One of the first things that you need to do is find out what kind of hosting company you will want to go with. You will need to decide which kind of server you want your site on.

There are literally hundreds to choose from. Your best bet is to try and find one that fits your budget.

Once you have found a good host then you can start setting up your site. There are a number of tools that are offered to help you with this process.

These tools will help you build a professional looking site in a matter of minutes. Once this part is done, you will have to focus on putting together your first copy of your content.

Once you have your site online, it is up to you how you promote it. There are a lot of ways that you can advertise your website. You can do this either with paid advertising such as Google AdSense, or you can get your website out there for free.

One of the best ways to do this is by simply submitting it to free classified ads sites. The more traffic you are able to drive to your site, the more money you will make.

When you are trying to make a real income from online, it is important that you take the time to learn how to properly monetize your website.

This is what will make you money. Without proper monetization your online business will fail. You should be able to choose between pay per click advertising, or contextual advertising, or even affiliate marketing.

As you look for the right way to monetize your site, it is important that you only ever get involved with businesses that have a legitimate reputation.

If you are going to be an affiliate marketer, it is important that you don’t just jump in with both feet and try to make a lot of money that fast.

Instead, it is wise to become a reputable marketer in order to avoid scams. Many people get involved in affiliate marketing without taking the time to become educated about it. This can be a huge mistake.

There are many programs out there that promise to help you earn large sums of money. However, there are a lot of these programs that are either scams or they simply do not work.

To avoid becoming one of these people, it is best if you spend some time doing your research before signing up for any program. This way, you can stay away from any scams, and you can also find a legitimate opportunity that works for you.

Getting Temporary Or Short-Term Car Insurance Coverage

If you are looking for short term car insurance you should know that you may not even need it. If you are thinking about getting car insurance for a short time period you are probably about to rent a car or borrow a vehicle…

Renting a car:

The rental car service will offer you some form of accident protection, liability insurance, loss damage waiver, and/or personal effects coverage. You do not need any of these offered insurances as long as you have your own car insurance because the insurance coverage you have on your car transfers over to the rental vehicle. It, however, does not transfer over if you are using the auto for some sort of business trip (something that is not recreational). In the following list you will find each of the 4 rental auto insurance possibilities and why you should probably skip each one…

Liability Insurance: All car insurance comes with liability coverage, which will transfer over to any car you drive. Keep in mind that liability coverage does not protect you, your passengers or you car, but those around the car (pedestrians, property, and other cars on the road).

Loss Damage Waiver: This protects the rental car from damage or loss. Some LDW’s only cover damage to the car if you are found to be innocent in an accident. Regardless, getting an LDW is pretty pointless if you have collision coverage (which would pay for repairs to the car regardless of who is at fault) and comprehensive coverage (which pays for damage or done to the car from things such as theft and collisions with wild life).

Personal Accident Coverage: It is very likely that you do not need this type of coverage because you either have health insurance, Medical Payments Coverage, or Personal Injury Protection.

Personal Effects Insurance: Your renters or homeowners policy will pay for the loss of items not only in your residence, but outside of it as well. If you want to insure something expensive, however, be sure to fill out a floater for that specific item.

If you are not absolutely sure if you are covered by your own car insurer, read your policy and, if you don’t understand something, give your auto insurer a call. You should also know that if you pay for the rental car using a credit card, the credit card company may provide short term coverage for that automobile.

Borrowing a car:

A lot of folks wonder if they need short term or temporary auto insurance if they borrow someone else’s car. Generally, no you don’t. The borrowed person’s car insurance coverage will transfer over to you as long as he or she gave you consent to use that car, making getting any type of short term car insurance useless. However, there are some things to keep in mind…

The liability insurance of the person from whom you borrow the car may not be enough to pay for liability damage that you cause while driving their car. If you have your own car insurance, this probably isn’t an issue. If, however, you don’t have your own car insurance and are held responsible for property damage of bodily injury liability fees after an accident, the liability insurance that is transferred over to you may not be enough. Say you cause $25,000 in damage and the lender’s liability coverage only goes up to $20,000. You are responsible for the additional $5,000, unless you have liability coverage yourself, which is at least $25,000.

You can easily correct the aforementioned problem by getting a non-owners auto insurance policy.

How to Shop For an Endzone Camera

Choosing the best endzone camera for your team might not be quite as straight forward as you may have thought. You could go straight for one of the well-known makes, such as Hi-Pod or Endzone Video Systems, simply because you know that other teams use those models with systems like Hudl.

However, jumping straight in and buying an end zone camera based solely on the fact that you know the name won’t guarantee that you get the best video camera tower for the best price. So, before you spend your team’s money on an end zone camera tower to use with Hudl, check out these important features that you should look at before you buy.

Software options

Before we get on to how to shop for an endzone camera, you might be asking the question; what is Hudl? Hudl is one of the best known video coaching software systems on the market and the company provides software, such as Hudl Football and Hudl Soccer, which enables coaches to analyze and share video footage of games and practice sessions. Hudl is not the only company in this market, though, there is a company called Krossover, which supplies similar software, and there is also a fairly new entrant into the market called VideoChamp Sports, which has been getting some extremely good reviews.

The camera

The first thing to think about when you are buying a video camera tower is the camera itself. If you already have a good quality video camera, you will need to make sure that the camera is compatible with the endzone tower equipment. If you don’t have a camera, be sure to check the specifications of any sports video camera tower that you look at, because not all manufacturers include a camera in their package.

Innovative design features

Some of the more established suppliers have pretty much stayed with the same design for many years. It’s well worth looking at some of the new innovative designs, which include the use of carbon fiber poles, which are lightweight and very strong, and swivel-poles, which make moving the camera for one angle to another much easier.

Check the weight

The weight of the various models of endzone camera systems can vary quite considerably, so check how much the whole unit weighs and how easily it can be packed away and carried. As a guide; 50 pounds is probably about the maximum weight that you would want to go with.

Look the battery charging options

Look at the battery life of both the viewing monitor and the cameras, and look what the battery charging options are. Some of the newer, more innovative designs of endzone cameras and remote control cameras have solar battery packs included, which can be great for using in long practice sessions when you can’t get to a power outlet.

Look at the quality of the viewing monitor

The quality of the viewing monitor is also an important consideration when you are shopping for the best endzone camera. You will get the best viewing results from a high-resolution LCD monitor that is at least 7 inches square.

For good picture quality, and for safety, you need to make sure that a video camera tower is going to stable and that it can be securely anchored to the ground. Look for systems that have independently adjustable legs, so that it can be set up level on uneven ground, and it should also have a full range of anchoring equipment, including straight stakes, spiral stakes, anchor-bags, and spike pegs.

Check the accessories list

When you are comparing the different models of endzone video camera tower systems, make sure that you are comparing like for like. Some suppliers don’t include anywhere near the same number of accessories with their tower units as others do. When you are looking at the price of video camera towers, be sure that you know what is included in the package and what you will need to purchase separately.

What Is Retirement

What is Retirement?

Keeping a Journal

As we grow and age in this life, we seem to have generalized goals for specific periods of time. The first 18 to 25 years can be set aside for education and training. From 25 to 35 could be called the period where one gets married and raises some kids. From 35 to 55 or 65 is where one focuses upon one’s work or career. And then you come to the age of “retirement”. What actually is “retirement”? Of course, ideally, it means that finally you can stop working and simply “enjoy” your life with your spouse. Your kids are grown and on their own and you nor longer have to go to “work” each day.

But what “is” retirement? All of the previous sections in a life are full of detailed descriptions. But “retirement” is somehow left rather vague. One would think that retirement would be the long-awaited GOAL of life. But instead we are left with the vague image of a rather portly man playing golf and drinking “at the club” and the female enjoying raising her grandkids. But what if you aren’t a golfer (or a drinker) and your grandkids don’t really need you to raise them. Hmmm.

There actually is a specific purpose to be accomplished within the period called “retirement”. But it isn’t generally discussed in the media because it has to do with “Spirit”. The period we call retirement is actually the period where one should review their entire life experience. What have you actually learned from your 65 + years of life within this 3-d hologram called life on earth. What has “Mary” or “Jim” actually learned in this life? How have you been able to grow your soul.

And this brings me to the main topic: keeping a Journal. It doesn’t really take very much time and you don’t have to be a talented writer. You just have to keep some form of notes about your life experience as it is happening. And here’s an interesting thing I’ve discovered (having kept a journal for over 50 years). Among all my notes detailing specific patterns of stress and lists of complaints I have noticed that from time to time a detailed “paragraph” or two will sort of pop onto the page that really has nothing to do with what came before or after. Suddenly a deep “insight” will sort of appear. And then, just as suddenly it will stop and the notations will return to my patterns of general complaint and detail my frustrations with one thing and another. And then, a week later, maybe a couple of months later, the sudden appearance of another “deep” insight will appear again. It might simply be a paragraph or two or it may be an entire page. And, in rereading my journals I find that this seems to happen on a semi regular basis, although at the time of the writing I am relatively unaware of the “insights”.

And here’s the rather amazing part. I have gone through my journals with a yellow marker and noted where and when these isolated “insights” appear. And then, I find that they are all connected! It seems like a vase that has been shattered long ago with the pieces scattered across time. Or, in another way of looking at it, it is like “I” am keeping two journals. One is my current day to day personal list of frustration and complaint and the other is from a higher perspective. But the “higher” perspective is still “me”. It is just my viewpoint from a higher frequency of Mind. Some might call this a gift. Some others might call it celestial schizophrenia. But it is not uncommon. We all are having multiple conversations with “ourselves” all the time. But we are often too distracted by life’s continual drama to pay attention.

Now to many people a journal is simply a “male” euphemism for a “diary”. And as we know, many young girls keep diaries while in middle school or high school. But likewise, most early nautical explorers kept diaries except that they were called the ship’s log and it detailed their adventure and served as an historical document. I would suggest that you think of yourself like an early explorer off on a dangerous mission that has never been attempted before: the personal exploration of your life! Think of your journal as your ship’s log.

I would also suggest that should journaling “catch on”, some day in the future these journals will be studied in Universities around the world as historical documents. “What was life really like in the 21st Century.”

But who has the time to actually press pen to paper in this world of constant distraction and immediate gratification? Well… no need. If you own a computer or a smart phone you can simply install a voice to text program or App and you will suddenly have a personal secretary to take down every relevant thought and your secretary will work 24-7 for Free!

Now that is what I call “Retirement”.

Here is a list of five specific suggestions for readers who haven’t kept a journal but now find themselves in the “retirement phase” of their life:

1. List every address you have ever lived at. Describe each location in detail as best you can recall.

2. List all the “forks” in the road of your life. These don’t have to be particularly good or bad, they are merely position points where a choice was made that changed all that came after.

3. List all the “Close calls” you’ve had with Death. Everyone has those “events,”which happen in their life that could have quite easily resulted in their demise but didn’t. Call it “fate” or simply good luck. Describe each of these in detail.

4. Describe your life in 5 year increments. Start at the age of 5. What do you recall (if anything) between your birth and the age of 5. Then move on and recall what you can between the ages of 5 and 10. Don’t go into 11 or 12. Keep it firmly in 5 year increments. And do this until you are within 5 years of your current age.

5. Create a “Reverse Bucket List”. A “normal” bucket list, would be a list of things you want to do in the future. In the case of a reverse bucket list, go over your life and select things that you have already done or accomplished. Things that you enjoyed or are proud of and list them “as if” you hadn’t actually done them yet but list them as things you want or hope to do or accomplish at some time in your life.

Many companies sell similar products and services to yours. What sets you apart from your competitors? Consumers want to see what you believe in, who you are, and what your story is. In today’s world, transparency is essential. Consumers not only want to purchase products, but they also want to interact with companies that align with their values.

Develop Your Story

Your story will change as your business grows. Don’t be afraid to change your story! As time passes, you’ll not be in the same place as when you started, and this makes a good story. Your followers will love to see how your brand is developing, and new followers will like to know how you started and how far you’ve come.

As your brand grows, you may launch new products or services; this provides a great time to tell a new story. Tell your followers the process you went through to develop the new product.

Always tell your brand’s story in a way that involves your followers to make them feel like they are part of the story and to keep them connected.

What Is Smoking

One of the oldest forms of food preservation, having arisen after the development of cooking with fire. Heat and smoke infuse a flavor into fish, ham, poultry, and meat and prevent the growth of microbes. Is an effective way to preserve food but care must be taken to avoid contamination and illness. By supplying a consisted temperature around 150 to 275 degrees F, with your wood chips at the heat source and food on the top rack with vapor continually flowing over your food. Will increase their palatability by adding flavor and imparting a rich brown color.

In Europe, the wood used most commonly for smoking is Adler, oak, and sometime becch. In North America, the woods used are alder, oak, hickory, pecan, mesquite, maple, and some fruit trees, like apple, cherry, and plum. Alternative materials have been used with the addition of seasoning ingredients.

Some ham and bacon suppliers smoke over burning corncobs. Barley malt for liquors is dried and smoked using burned humate. Hot smoking fish in New Zealand is done with the wood from the tea tree. And in Iceland cold smoked lamb, whale, mutton, and fish is done with dried sheep dung.

On the western farms, a smokehouse was used for preserving meats, this building was away from other building due to the fire danger, and the smoke emanating from it.

Smoking can be done in four ways: Cold smoking, Warm Smoking, Hot smoking, and Liquid smoke.

Cold smoking 68 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit, food is typically preserved by fermenting, salting, or curing before smoking and should be cooked before consumption, food remains raw, takes hours to weeks

Warm smoking 77 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, food remains raw, needs to be cooked before eating.

Hot smoking 10 to 275 degrees Fahrenheit, food is cooked by the heat of the gases of the fire, and smoke adds the flavor Hot smoking is a fantastic way to add flavor to your food, it is much faster than cold smoking and creates mouthwatering results. It is worth bearing in mind that hot smoking is not an effective method of food preservation and your products will require consumption within a couple of days even if kept refrigerated.

Liquid smoke a product derived from smoke compounds in water. A brownish-yellow liquid made by capturing and condensing the vapors from burning wet wood chips (usually hickory). Liquid smoke is used to add a smoky quality to foods in an attempt to capture the flavor of wood-fire grilling.

How Can Adult Children Relieve Tension?

Continual exposure, during the two decades of an adult child’s upbringing, to fear, trauma, abuse, and survival-oriented reactions created by parental dysfunction, alcoholism, and abuse prime him for significant, sometimes chronic tension, even later in life when triggers spark earlier, unresolved incidents or he is confronted with circumstances those from safe, secure, and stable homes may not perceive e as so daunting. What, then, is tension?

A psychological manifestation and sensation, it can be perceived as an internal tightness, resulting in elevated heart and blood pressure levels and the release of stress hormones. Like a giant, interior rubber band, it deludes the person into believing that it stretches to its maximum length, leaving him to believe that if something is not done to release its tenacity, it will imminently snap. At other times, it feels as if his brain were in an ever tightening vice. An adult child assuredly experienced these “on the edge” sensations during a major portion of his childhood, as the mere entry into the room of his controlling parent caused him to retreat within himself, cease all pleasurable focuses, and prepare for the next blame, shame, or harm. Tension can be the uncomfortable internal state that alerts: Something is about to happen! Get ready for it!

Later-in-life tension, despite the absence of the rigid parent and even a departure from the person’s home environment, can be self-created for four principle reasons.

1). A perceived obstacle to the attainment or successful completion of a goal or endeavor, which can be considered significant and important.

2). A conscious or subconscious perception that a person, place, or thing poses a potential threat and approximates the detrimental circumstances of his upbringing, such as an authority figure, who represents the displaced image of his parent.

3). The resultant consequences if the physical, mental, and/or emotional obstacle is not surmounted so that the goal can be reached, whether that goal be sheer safety or an actual accomplishment of some type.

4). The inability to triumph over the restriction.

I once asked someone which would create more tension about passing a college course and attaining his degree-the ability to write his name on a piece of paper or the requirement to research and write a 20-page term pager, use at least five sources, and do so in under an hour? The latter, obviously, carries three of the tension-creating elements: the need to complete a significant goal (write the term paper), the consequences of that inability (failure of the course), and the impossibility of doing so in a sixty-minute interval.

I doubt that writing a person’s name on a piece of paper to pass a university-level class would produce very much tension for anyone.

Already a cultivated victim, having had parental abuse or even insanity demonstrated as indicative of human behavior, and diminished in resources and development, an adult child may create an even deeper tension when confronted with certain aspects of life that carry these elements, discovering that the more he thinks his way into his helpless ability to overcome his obstacles, the more inhibited he becomes in overcoming them. He eventually forces himself into a mentally imposed prison and throws away the key.

Examination of my own tensions indicates that my subconscious is usually superimposing a present-time situation on an unresolved past-time incident, regenerating the inner child retreat, who was assuredly powerless, helpless, and tool-less, along with the fears, danger, traumas, incapacitations, and immobilizations experienced during its time of necessary creation.

Surmounting obstacles as an adult with these inabilities as a child, needless to say, creates tremendous tension, as the former states, “I have to prevail over this,” but the latter replies, “I can’t. I don’t know how!”

The more he tries, the greater becomes tension’s grip, until he is jammed by it.

Tension’s solutions, which can perhaps more accurately be labeled “tension’s relievers,” are many, but all depend upon the amount of recovery and the ability to pause and assess which of the three brain areas the person is operating from: the brain stem (amygdala-induced reactions), mid (emotions), or upper (logic, reasoning, and executive functioning). That “stop and think” strategy could be the threshold to varying degrees of release and relief, and can threshold several successful strategies.

The adult child, first and foremost, must realize that his past, tension-building reactions most likely never worked before and therefore will not work now. Instead, they will only tighten their grip on him.

Indeed, the solution is paradoxically not tightening his hold on its resign, but instead releasing it and surrendering it to a Higher Power, as he realizes that he is too limited and restricted to find all solutions within him. Because he was forced to do exactly that during his upbringing in the midst of deficient, abandoning parents, it may require significant recovery and “turning over” attempts before he is successful with the effort.

“‘Let go and let God ‘teaches us to release problems that trouble and confuse us because we are not able to solve them by ourselves,” according to Al-Anon’s “Courage to Change” text (Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters, Inc., 1992, p. 321).

The adult child must realize that his unresolved childhood issues and the helplessness they now generate are only blocking him and thus causing his tension build-up, not reduction.

Tantamount to understanding his tension-producing stressors is the determination of their intensity and severity. If they are particularly amplified and out-of-proportion for the emotions they create, then he can suspect that his past is playing out in his present without his awareness. Consideration of when he had similar feelings, particularly during his upbringing, may time-peg the incident and re-shelve it, considerably relieving his tension.

When I have used this method, my abusive father’s image has appeared and with that realization the tension has subsided, because I found myself chewing on an earlier-life episode that was feeding the fires of the later-in-life one.

There are several other tension relieving methods, whose effectiveness, based upon personal experience, has varied according to occasion and intensity.

When my internal circuit breaker seems like it is about to pop, the energy that causes it can be diffused or dissipated by speaking either with a sponsor or a trusted friend.

“Many of us have discovered that the telephone can be a life line between meetings,” according to “Courage to Change” (ibid, p. 116). “… A particularly useful time for Al-Anon phone calls is when we are preparing to do something new or frightening. Many of us ‘book-end’ these actions. We make an Al-Anon call before taking the action and we follow (it) with a second call. For those of us who have always acted alone, there is a way to share our risks and our courage with others who will love and support us, no matter what happens.”

Another relieving method is pressing the personal “pause” button by interrupting the building intensity with other, more pleasurable activities or focuses. Like a loop, tensions continually run the same circular track in the brain and heavy emotions ensure that they remain impressed into it, unable to locate the happier “off ramp.”

“Sometimes a horse refuses to obey a rider’s command and races out of control,” advises “Courage to Change” (ibid, p. 306). “My thoughts can do this too, when I frantically try, over and over, to solve a difficult problem… When my thoughts race out of control, I need to stop. I need to do this by breathing deeply and looking at my surroundings. It can help to replace the obsessive thoughts with something positive… “

Awareness of the mind’s thoughts and refocusing on external stimuli is known as “mindfulness.”

Light music, a comedy television show, taking a drive, and communing with nature, particularly on a warm, spring day, have all aided me in releasing my mind’s grip from tension’s track.

“When I’m trying to tackle a tough problem or cope with a stressful situation, and I’ve done all I can for the moment, what then?” asks “Courage to Change” (ibid, p. 290). “I can do something that will nurture my mind, body, or spirit. Perhaps I’ll take a walk or listen to music.”

During such walks, I myself have gazed up toward and temporarily immersed myself in the sky’s infinity, realizing how small I and my tension-provoking problems really are in relation to it all.

At times I also think of the friends and relatives who had once been a part of my life, but who are no longer in life, and wonder how important my concerns are in relation to their eternal existences now. How many, I can only ask myself, care that 20 or so years ago, when they were alive, that they had had a “bad hair day?” How, then, can I continue to view my own worries and trepidations with any degree of lasting severity?

As these efforts enable me to adopt new perspectives, my tensions-and the circumstances that cause them-begin to dissolve. I stand on the physical platform designated earth and negotiate the life I have been given in my imperfect and impermanent state the best way I can until someday, like those who preceded me, my cares and concerns will collapse into meaninglessness.

What Is a Dental Bridge and Who Needs One?

Dental bridges, as the name connotes, bridge the gap between missing teeth. They consist of two or more crowns for teeth on one or the other side of the gap; the abutment teeth, which are the anchoring teeth; and false tooth/teeth in between them. Pontics as these false teeth are called, can come in gold, porcelain, alloy or a mixture of these materials. Implants or natural teeth hold these devices.

The Process of Getting a Dental Bridge

On the first visit to get such a device, the dentist makes ready the abutment teeth. He recontours these teeth by filing part of the enamel to provide space for a crown to be placed above them. He then makes impressions of the teeth to serve as a mold that will be used by the dental lab to make the bridge, crowns and pontic. In the meantime, he will create a temporary bridge to protect teeth and gums that are exposed during the time the final version is being made.

On the second visit, the dentist will remove the temporary version and will place the new metal/porcelain bridge, which will be examined and adjusted as needed to make it fit properly. This may require multiple visits in order for the bite and fit of the metal framework to be checked. This actually depends on every patient’s case. If it is a fixed dental bridge, the dentist may put temporary cement on it for a few weeks to ensure proper fit. Then, after another few weeks, the device is permanently cemented.

The Cost of Dental Bridges

When it comes to this type of devices, the costs involved depend on the type of bridge chosen and the part of the country where the procedure is carried out.

The Longevity of Dental Bridges

These devices can be used from five to fifteen years and at times, even longer. It is expected to have a life span of more than 10 years when the patient practices good oral hygiene and regular dental visits.

Eating with a Dental Bridge

When missing teeth are replaced with a dental bridge, it makes eating a lot easier. However, if the person is not yet used to wearing the device, it would help to eat small pieces of soft foods.

Speaking with a Dental Bridge

It is hard to speak clearly with missing teeth. On the other hand, using a dental bridge with the anterior teeth in proper connection enables the person to speak more clearly.

Caring for a Dental Bridge

It is critical for remaining teeth to stay healthy and strong since the outcome of the bridge (based on the type chosen) relies on the foundation that the surrounding teeth provides. Practicing good oral care that includes brushing twice daily, flossing and using a mouthwash everyday prevents tooth decay as well as gum disease than can cause tooth loss.

It would help to ask a dentist/dental hygienist for advice on proper brushing and flossing. Regular cleaning will enable the dentist to diagnose problems right from the start, when it is easier to treat. It is also important to choose a well balanced diet to have proper nutrition.

What is God’s Horsemanship?

God’s Horsemanship is an idea that God gave to me one day while cleaning stalls. I was doing a little day dreaming thinking about all the different types of horsemanship that I hear about today, especially this “natural horsemanship” business. Seems everyone has their different version of natural horsemanship. These trainers & clinicians put a different name in front of it so that it sounds different & they can call it there own, but if you watch a lot of them closely they are all basically using the same methods with their own little twist here and there, doing the same thing getting the similar results. Now I won’t say that theses trainers and clinicians aren’t talented, I learn a lot from many of them today and I commend them for their hard work & knowledge.

But for me it goes a little deeper than just horse training. While I was still in the stall I started thinking to myself… what is natural horsemanship who came up with this?

God created horses didn’t he (Gen.1: 24-25) Then he created man to manage over these animals (Gen.1: 26) then he allowed man to give them names (Gen.2: 19-20).

Who gives me ability to train these horses? So I started to think a little further about the methods I have learned & use to train horses. Then it occurred to me that what I was doing wasn’t natural horsemanship it was God’s Horsemanship.

God’s horsemanship to me is my relationship with God & then animal and in this case the horse. This relationship has allowed me to learn from God and the horse, which teaches me a lot about myself and the things I need to change in my life. Also my relationship with the horse teaches me more about God’s personality & how my relationship with him should be.

Gods ultimate goal is to gain our trust in him and likewise our ultimate goal is to gain our horses trust in us. For example I find that God allows certain pressures in our life (never more than we can handle) until we surrender and begin to rely on him in order for him to achieve greatness with us, likewise when I am training a horse I allow a him to feel a certain amount of pressure (never more than he can handle) until he surrenders and learns to rely on me in order for me to achieve greatness with him.

I also learn lessons from the horse, for example horses don’t see color lines or particular races. All they see are human beings. When my horse and I are in disagreement about something on a particular day we can stop come back the next day and he’s forgotten all about the day before. Horses hold no grudges with people, so this is how we should be with one another. Horses are always willing to try again, very humble.

I have many other lessons I learn everyday but I just wanted to share a few.
