Why Builders Choose Ready-To-Assemble Cabinets

Published

on

Ready-to-Assemble or RTA cabinets come with many benefits to the buyer. Though at first thought they may seem like a headache they really aren’t when purchased from a quality supplier. Still, many individuals wonder what the allure is of this type of cabinet as opposed to pre-assembled versions that would seem to be a quick get and fit method to putting a kitchen together.

RTA cabinets often get the stigma of being poorly made and cheaply constructed carpentry, but that just isn’t the case. Today’s RTA cabinets have the same quality as custom counterparts. Most are none the wiser when it comes to telling the difference.

With the same amazing appearance and better quality than pre-assembled options there is much to love about RTA cabinets for an upcoming project. Not to mention, money will be saved which is always a plus!

Have a Kitchen Dreams are Made of

RTA cabinets are still constructed of the finest materials, delivering the quality one would expect from a custom cabinet maker. Yet, they are far less expensive. There really is no downside when one considers that fact. Pre-assembled versions from the big box stores often take weeks to receive, and custom cabinetry obviously takes a while to build.

• A builder or home owner will have their RTA cabinets in no time at all and even save on shipping because they don’t come in giant, bulky boxes like pre-assembled do.

• Choose from a wide range of styles and sizes, just because they are ready-to-assemble doesn’t mean one has less to choose from

• All the parts and directions necessary will come right with the cabinets. All that’s needed is a hammer and screwdriver.

• Experience the pride in do-it-yourself. It can feel good to build something as well because there’s added assurance it was done right.

Doors or Complete Cabinets?

The choice is that of the homeowner when it comes to complete cabinet replacement or just the door front. Many opt for complete package as they can be assured they all come from the same manufacturer with the warranty. Warranty may be voided otherwise so it pays to check.

Though just doors may be cheaper, RTA cabinets are so easy to assemble and give one everything all new, which is very appealing! Why not go for it?

Custom or Stock?

Many prefer the traditional face-frame cabinets while other like a more contemporary look this is a relatively easy choice. Once style is decided, the next decision would be manufactured or custom. Stock are similar to what one would see in a big box store and are quite basic with the same design and different finishes. As stated before they are cheaper and offer minimal choices.

Custom RTA cabinets are much more unique and give the buyer a larger choice of material, color and size as well as other elements. They may take a little longer but if the homeowner is certain of what they want and they can only come custom then the wait is worth it.

If one is lucky, they’ll align with a company that caters to both! They can get custom cabinets as RTA cabinets as well. This means they won’t have to wait forever for their order, and often can get them delivered right to the curbside for the ultimate in convenience.

Give RTA a Chance

Remember, the RTA cabinets of 2015/2016 are far better than the old days! Don’t plan on a wobbly version of the cabinets you desire. They are made quite sturdy and come with all quality parts for assembly.

Manufacturers have made great strides in the RTA realm so that savvy buyers can save and still have the cabinets they desire.

Bumper Plates for Your Garage Gym – Reviewing Competition, Technique and Training Bumper Plates

Published

on

By

Time to pick out some Olympic weightlifting plates for your garage gym? What kind do you buy? Rubber bumper plates or steel plates? Where should you get them? Should you buy new plates, or should you seek out used bumper plates? Are they expensive to ship, or should you expect free shipping? I’ve been through all this myself. I’ve done all of the research already for my garage gym but I’m going to do it all over again for this article. So let’s see if I can make purchasing some Olympic plates easier for you guys and gals.

What are Bumper Plates?

Bumper plates (or just bumpers) are Olympic weightlifting plates, typically made of rubber, so that a loaded bar can be safely dropped without damaging either the plates or the lifting platform (or simply the floor in most home and garage gym situations). Bumpers are available in both pounds and kilograms in the same weight variety as normal cast iron or steel weightlifting plates. Competition bumper plates are color coded by weight, while training bumpers are normally just black.

Bumper Plates or Steel Plates?

So do you choose bumper plates or classic steel/cast iron plates? Well that depends. If money is really tight, steel weights might be the way to go. Steel plates are less expensive and much easier to find second-hand. Check craigslist and you’ll be blown away by how many folks are selling their used plates and bars from the local sporting good stores. Often times, the weights are practically new. Prices on new steel plates are already about 60-70% of the price of decent bumpers, so finding used plates can mean major savings. You may also get lucky and find used bumper plates.

Another option for a tight budget is rubber coated plates. The cost is on par with steel, however, don’t think for a second that they are similar to bumpers. They are still just steel plates, only they have a protective coating. Rubber plates are typically what box gyms have these days, probably because they are quieter and look less like old school iron. They are not intended to be dropped from overhead like a bumper plate is, so if Olympic lifts are going to be part of your workout, I would avoid both steel and rubber coated plates as an option.

So why are bumpers better than steel? First of all, they’re safer. Safer as in, they won’t smash through your foundation or crack and chip if you drop them accidentally. Consider that if you cannot safely drop a 45 pound steel plate while just transporting it to and from the bar without having to worry about what it would do to your flooring, you obviously can’t drop it from the top of a press or from shoulder-height on a failed snatch.

With so many folks these days utilizing Olympic lifts in their workouts (even Crossfit uses the clean and the snatch), it makes sense to just go for the bumper plates initially so those lifts are an option for you later, even if you’re fitness level doesn’t necessitate them right away.

There is another reason so many prefer bumper plates over steel. It may seem a little silly, but for those who have worked out with steel (or still do) you will understand. It’s the noise. Steel is crazy loud on the bar. Even on relatively smooth movements, those giant plates banging against each other is definitely loud. When you let that bar down from even a few inches above the ground or rack, it’s loud as hell. Bumpers don’t clang and bang like that. Just something else to consider.

Mix and Match Plates

You don’t have to go with 100% bumpers. I have a combination of steel and bumpers in my garage gym. While my 35′s and 45′s are all bumper plates, I still use smaller steel plates. The steel 25′s and smaller plates never touch the ground so it doesn’t matter what they’re made of. Besides, the standard 10 lb. and 15 lb. bumpers tend to deform (taco) if they’re allowed to take the brunt of a drop too many times. They’re just too thin to take the same abuse as the large 45 lb. plates.

One other option for Olympic plates are Technique Plates. These are one-piece solid plastic plates really meant to be abused. They are mostly available in 5, 10, and 15 pound plates. If you’re new to Olympic lifts, these allow you to get your form down with very little weight added weight, but you still have the feel of plates on the bar. They are not cheap per pound, but you shouldn’t need more than one or two pairs of technique plates.

“I want bumper plates!”

I’ll go over the different types and brands of bumper plates and also go over what I’ve discovered regarding the best places to buy each type based on price, shipping cost, and overall reviews and feedback.

Standard black bumpers. There are a number of manufacturers out there but I’ve narrowed this down to three different -brands: Rogue HG, Troy VTX, and HI-Temp bumper plates.

-Troy VTX bumper plates are probably what you’ll come across more times than not in a sporting goods store or used equipment store. They’re priced reasonably well and the reviews are overall pretty decent. It’s one of the few options in that price range available in color. Look on Amazon for a deal on these. There is a ton of sellers for Troy VTX products.

-Hi-Temp bumpers are solid and the price is great as well. They are on the thicker side of available bumpers, but unless your lifts require over 400 pounds on the bar, I think you’ll be fine with the thickness of the plates. Lots of sites sell Hi-Temp. Rogue has them for cheaper than I could find them anywhere else, and shipping was included in the price. These are the only basic bumpers I know of that are made in the USA. FYI, HI-Temp bumper plates are the most searched for bumper plate by brand.

-Rogue HG Bumpers are my favorite choice for a basic black bumpers. I own some of these plates and I love them. They are slightly less expensive than the Hi-Temps, yet they are a bit thinner and look much cooler. They are warranted for 3 years (25′s and up) and the shipping is included in the price. Read some of the reviews here. These are hands down the best option for getting set up with bumpers.

Competition (& Training) Bumper plates: Competition bumpers like the Eleiko Olympic plates, the Pendlay Elites, or the Rogue Competition plates for Crossfit are thinner, more durable, and significantly more expensive. The “training” versions of these bumpers pretty much means they are the same plate, only not calibrated. So either way, when compared to a standard bumper, they are much more expensive.

I have lifted with competition plates so rarely that I have no business giving a review on them. Eleiko is used in the Olympics, Crossfit uses and abuses Rogue’s Competition plates, and Pendlay Elites are used by SuperFit. The weight deviation tolerances on these are so tight that you know you’re lifting the weight claimed on the plate… unlike the super cheap brands (of any plate, bumper or otherwise) where the tolerances are in the form of a percentage rather than in grams.

If you have the money to spend on bumper plates this nice, I’m sure that regardless of which brand you buy that you’ll be happy with them. Even though I won’t review them, I’ve still looked for the best prices online for all three brands for you to check out in case you are considering one of these options. Just click the links on each name in the previous paragraph. (please research prices yourself as well. These best prices are at the time of writing, and I didn’t dig to page 10 on Google when comparing.)

Pricing Summary

Below is just some pricing to give you an idea of what you will spend to get your hands on some new bumper plates (again, at the time of writing this article).

Cast Iron / Steel Plates: Approx $.90-$1.20 a pound. Definitely look for used.

Rogue HG Bumpers: Approx $1.50-$1.75 a pound. Best deal I could find.

HI-TEMP Bumper Plates: Approx $1.60-$2.00 a pound.

Training Bumpers: Approx $3-$5 a pound.

Competition Bumper Plates: Approx $4-$8+ a pound.

Technique Plates: Approx $14-16 a pound (ouch).

I hope this article has been helpful. I realize there are a ton of other brands and places to buy bumper plates. I looked at a lot of them both online and in local stores, and I’ve been exposed to a number of them in gyms. I wanted to narrow it down a bit. If you want to add your two cents on the type of plates you have and love (or hate), please do. You may also want to check out either my weight bench review or my power rack review, both done in a similar fashion and available at www.garage-gyms.com.

Benefits of Hydroponics Gardening

Published

on

By

The definition of hydroponics is growing plants without soil. It derives its name from two Greek words, Hydro and Ponics. The literal translation is: “Water labor.” Instead of getting nutrients from soil, the plants are given nutrients directly to their roots. The food fed to the hydroponics plants is called a number of things. It can be called hydroponic nutrient, hydroponics nutrients, or liquid fertilizer. Plants grown hydroponically can be supported in gravel, sand, water, or even in the air.

Plants grown traditionally in the soil are left to “fend for themselves” by having to get the nutrients they need to grow from the soil. Plants grown hydroponically are given food and water directly to the roots. This allows the hyrdroponically grown plants to grow faster and larger.

Another benefit to growing plants in hydroponic gardens is the space which is saved. The roots of plants grown in soil have to spread out far and wide to seek nutrients. The roots from plants in hydroponic gardens don’t have to spread out so far. They are getting their nutrients directly on their roots. Therefore, they don’t have to spread out so far. Therefore, you can have more plants in the same amount of space by using hydroponics.

Soil grown plants have to rely on the natural environment for such things as humidity, light, and temperature. The plants in hydroponic gardens can be given whatever amount of light, humidity, and temperature they need on a consistent basis, unlike their soil based counterparts.

Soil based plants are susceptible to pests, weeds, and soil borne diseases. With hydroponic gardens these concerns vanish. The pests that live in soil can not attack the plants. Also, because there is no soil, weeds cannot grow. The same goes for the soil borne diseases. No soil means the plants can not get sick from common soil based diseases.

Growing soil based plants generally takes a lot of hard work. It takes a lot of commitment and a real “green thumb.” Hydroponics, on the other hand, is a relatively simple way to grow plants. Very rarely could you neglect soil based plants for any length of time. They need to be tended to almost daily. This is not true with hydroponic gardens. The process can be fully automated. Another fantastic benefit is; hydroponic gardens use way less water. Typically, the water in hydroponic gardens is recycled. Traditional farming wastes a large amount of water. The water is wasted through runoff and evaporation.

As you can see, the benefits to hydroponic gardening are numerous. The reasons to grow plants hydroponically largely outweigh those of traditional farming. Hydroponic gardening doesn’t require you to have a “green thumb.” Hydroponic gardening is easy, safe, and fun.

Cleaning House and the 80-20 Rule

Published

on

By

Cleaning house is one of those things that needs doing again… and again… and again! How can you make it less of a burden?

When I taught time management classes, one of the things I loved to teach was the 80-20 rule. It’s best explained by examples. Eighty percent of the time, you wear twenty percent of your wardrobe. Eighty percent of the phone calls you get come from twenty percent of your friends. Eighty percent of the dirt is on twenty percent of the floor. Twenty percent of salespeople make eighty percent of sales. Okay, sometimes it’s 90-10 and sometimes it’s 70-30 but you get the idea.

Eighty percent of the dirt is on twenty percent of the floor? Hmm, what does that suggest about cleaning your house? Often a quick pass through the parts of your house that really need it will make cleaning house much easier. If you are in a hurry, let the dust behind the sofa and under the table alone and just clean a swath through the heavy traffic areas. Sooner or later, you’ll get to them as well — or hire someone else to do a thorough cleaning occasionally.

You can probably make up lots of examples of the 80-20 rule that apply to your own ways of cleaning house and of keeping things picked up. Perhaps eighty percent of the dirty dishes left lying around come from one person. Perhaps eighty percent of your frustration with how your house looks could be solved by doing twenty percent of what you think you should.

Making Your Home Office Conducive to Work

Published

on

By

Most of us know that we need to think carefully about office design if we’re going to work at home productively. But what many people don’t realize, is that it’s not just the furniture in the home office that can support or hinder your attempts to work hard. Factors that influence your physiology can also have a big effect.

Light

For instance, it’s crucial that you keep your rooms light enough if you want to be able to see what you’re doing and to feel like you have space and air in the room. There are few things that make you feel less productive than being in a claustrophobic room.

At the same time, this also has an impact on our mood. A dark room has the tendency to make us feel tired, whereas light helps stimulate cortisol and wakefulness hormones. One great investment for a home office therefore is a daylight lamp, which creates light with a similar wavelength to the sun. It can combat SAD and it also improves productivity.

Distractions

At the same time you need to remove distractions – but not to the point where the room is so bland that you completely lose inspiration. Plants and colors can help to keep you feeling creative, but something like a TV is just begging for you to not work. Remember to put anything else you buy for your home office on your expense account!

Separation

Treat this room in your house like a real office too. Don’t go in there when you’re not working and make sure you take regular breaks to sit outside with a cup of tea or to just grab lunch.

Doing this will help to create an association between work and the office space – thus walking into the office will put you in a more productive headspace that will help you work longer and better.

Temperature

Even the temperature of your room has an impact on productivity. Ideally, this space should be lightly cool. This will help you to feel more awake and avoid drowsiness. Did you know that many theaters maintain a cool ambient temperature in order to keep the audience engaged with the stage show?

Smell and More

Even the smell has an effect! The right essential oils can stimulate the production of positive hormones that stimulate creativity and productivity, conversely, a bad odor floating in from outside can have a very negative impact.

Air quality is important too.

In short, do everything you can to make your office a space that nurtures and protects your productive instincts!

The Benefits of Quickstep Laminate Flooring

Published

on

By

Quick Step laminate flooring represents the state of the art in flooring materials, resembling wood but more durable and wear-resistant. It allows today’s homeowner to have a “wood” floor of superior performance without the sacrifice of trees. Quick Step’s product is easy to install and requires less maintenance than real wood does.

As the name implies, laminate flooring is composed of layers, starting with the barrier layer which prevents moisture entering the boards. Additional moisture resistance is supplied by the next layer, composed of waterproof HDF or High Density Fibre board.

The purpose of the next layer is to create the impression of wood or tiles. For this, a highly detailed photograph of wood grain or tile lines is attached to the upper surface of the board using melamine, an extremely hard resin. To enhance the impression of natural material, a structure imitating wood grain or tile lines is also pressed into the top layer so that it exactly matches the visual pattern. Thus the surface of the board not only looks right, but has the texture of the real material and is virtually indistinguishable from it. The uppermost layer of the laminate is a hard, transparent coating for further protection.

Quick Step has devoted a great deal of research to the improvement of their product, and it includes technological developments making it the superior flooring material. Quick Step laminate flooring features ScratchGuard Advanced Finish Protection which makes it four times more resistant to microscopic scratches.

Quick Step is also the inventor of the Uniclic locking design which has completely changed the flooring industry by eliminating the need for glue. Using a sliding or angled motion, the installer can attach Uniclic segments together at the edges, forming a smooth surface that can be walked on immediately. The Uniclic surface is highly wear-resistant and carries a lifetime residential warranty.

Quick Step laminate flooring comes in several colors and designs. For instance, Rustic is so close to real wood planks, it’s hard to tell the difference. Country also has a realistic wood grain that could fool all but the closest observers. In addition to the woodgrain, many of the patterns have realistic grooves in imitation of boards. There are tile patterns such as Arte and the traditional Quadra, while Go has the grain but lacks the grooves. Almost every variation is represented here, providing something for all tastes.

Daily maintenance of Quick Step consists of dry-sweeping loose dust and dirt. There is also the Quick Step maintenance set which uses a dual method, first cleaning dry and then slightly moist. Microfiber tissues are recommended for more intensive cleaning with a Quick Step cleaning product. For those patterns with bevelled grooves, dry cleaning only is recommended.

Prices vary from one pattern to the next. The most basic designs go for around 60 pence per square foot, while others range from one and a half pounds to just over two pounds per square foot. Of course, prices may vary from one outlet to another.

Wall Grid Systems For the Perfect Garage Storage

Published

on

By

Everyone would like to have an organized garage. Unfortunately, many people use the garage as a place to store items that do not otherwise have a home. It does not take long before the garage turns into a mess, with so many items collected there that it is all but impossible to even park your car in it.

Are there any quick, inexpensive and easy solutions? Look no further than a wall grid system for ideal garage storage. Simply mount a wall grid with the enclosed brackets and you will be able to add a multitude of brackets, hooks, baskets, and shelves to address all of your storage needs.

Wall grid can be installed on virtually any type of wall. The enclosed hardware will handle everything from drywall to masonry, but a local home center can help you if you need more specialized wall anchors.

Once the brackets are attached to the wall, the grid slips into place. The grids themselves are extremely light-weight, but very strong. There is no need to ask a neighbor for help to lift them into place. Almost anyone will be able to install it singlehandedly.

Accessories are plentiful and attach in less than a minute. They simply snap into place. If you change your mind and want to move the attachment, then simply unsnap and relocate it. It will literally take seconds, but will allow you to completely customize the storage system every time your storage needs change.

Several wall grids can be mounted adjacent to each other to make a larger storage wall that can hold even more items. The small baskets that clip into place are perfect for storing household chemicals and paints, as they will be stored out of reach of young hands. The larger cloth baskets are ideal for children’s outdoor toys. The numerous hooks and brackets are also great for holding garden tools.

Advantages of Hydroponic Gardening

Published

on

By

So, you have decided to grow a garden this year? Well, before you go spending a lot of money unnecessarily, you should take a look at all of the advantages of hydroponic gardening. Hydroponic gardening is garden work at its best. There is virtually little to no dirt involved in hydroponic growing. Hydroponic gardening is the use of water and light to grow vegetables and fruits. Hydroponic growing means less time spent and less money wasted on unnecessary materials. You do not need to spend money on fertilizers and pesticides. Nor do you spend hours weeding and tilling the soil. Hydroponic gardening is very beneficial in that the yields on crops are much higher and the plants will generally produce richer, brighter, and more nutritious fruits.

To start your own hydroponic garden, you need to decide where you will settle your plants. The hydroponic growing of plants generally means that you need a decent amount of space to allow the plants to grow. Most people use a greenhouse. Hydroponic growing of plants is quite simple and virtually anyone can do it. All you need is to do a little research, especially if you are just starting out. Ask questions from people you know who are into hydroponic gardening. Find out what kind of nutrients your plants will need. Hydroponic nutrients are usually more concentrated because of the fact that they need to be added to the plants and their growing environment. It is best if you find a combination solution that will provide all of the nutrients necessary for your plants to grow.

Another advantage to hydroponic gardening is that you can grow your vegetables and fruits all year round. The most ideal situation is indoor hydroponic growing. This way you can control not only the light and water, but also the amount of pests that will affect the yield of the plants. When growing a garden outdoors, you must be prepared to lose some of your crop yield due to pests, the weather, and other factors. However, with hydroponic growing, you can eliminate most of these factors. You can also ensure the amount of hydroponic nutrients that your plants are getting. By using hydroponic nutrients, you can control the strength of the root systems and control the flowering potential of your plants. Different types of hydroponic nutrients can encourage your plants to produce more flowers, which in turn provide more fruit from plants such as the tomato plant. Other types of hydroponic nutrients increase the size and foliage of the plants. Hydroponic nutrients are basically plant food. This is as necessary to the plant growth as water and light.

So now we know that there are at least three things that are essential to hydroponic gardening: light, water, and hydroponic nutrients. Without these three things, your hydroponic garden will undoubtedly fail. Learn about the essentials of hydroponic growing to ensure a wonderful year round garden. You will not regret it when you see the bountiful harvest at the end of the road.

Cleaning Polished and Unpolished Porcelain Tiles

Published

on

By

Coming in a myriad of different colors, shapes, textures and finishes, porcelain tiles are a wonderful option to consider when tiling your home. Whether it’s a small back splash behind your sink, a full counter, or floor the simple earthiness or complex elegance of porcelain is ageless. However, over time dirt can cause abrasions in the tile and make it look dirty and scratched even when its newly cleaned, it can also change the texture of the tile and make it irritable to walk on or difficult to work with on a table. Because of this and the simple needs of keeping a home clean, there have been many different recommendations on just how to keep porcelain tiles clean. The three major types of porcelain tiles are polished, unpolished and textured tiles, which each need to be considered carefully before choosing a cleaning method.

Polished porcelain is by far the most common porcelain tile because of its shining and eye-catching surface, which is also one of its most difficult things to sustain for long periods of time. The shine is dazzling but may also seem to get dirty quickly and any kind of surface scratching may make is permanently seem so, which is why it is so important to pick a non-abrasive cleaner and cleansing tools like a sponge or soft bristled brush to clean it. It is also important to first vacuum or sweep the floor as swirling water with dirty particles in it can damage the surface as well. Rinsing and drying is important to protect against water spots and buffing to make sure that it shines just as brightly as before.

Unpolished and textured porcelain tiles do not require so much careful consideration since they do not shine quite like polished porcelain, but because of their more porous or textured surface, they do tend to be a little more difficult to clean thoroughly. After sweeping any loose debris off the floor, saturate it with diluted commercial cleaner or a mild homemade cleanser and let it soak for about five minutes to fully clean the many divots of the tile. Use a nylon-bristled brush to scrub the tile to loosen the dirt, quickly wiping it away with a rag afterwards. Rinse thoroughly and soak up the excess water afterwards to allow for complete drying. Also, unpolished porcelain is extremely vulnerable to staining and should be avoided in high traffic areas or wherever the high possibility of spilling may be; this makes it a typically avoided kind of tile with families who have pets or children.

Keep in mind that cleaners with harsh chemicals will need to be diluted to a mild version of themselves, otherwise they could damage the color, texture or finish of your tiles, and cause your grout to become weak, eventually leading to permanent damage. Waxes, sealants and oil-based cleaners also tend to discolor the tile with a thin film over it, possibly changing the color of your flooring and making the traction more slick, which may contribute to accidents from slipping on the floor, especially if wet.

How to Resurrect Your Old Treadmill and Explode Your Fitness Potential

Published

on

By

First off, many who have a home treadmill don’t have a typical home gym set up. Instead the treadmill usually resides in the basement next to the water heater or in the bed room next to a pile of laundry.

Like any other type of work, exercising on a treadmill requires a supportive environment where you feel good and full of energy. Without a full gym set up, it’s easy to let the treadmill become just another piece of clutter rather than a focal point of the room. So pack up, pick up and clear out any clutter and make the treadmill a primary focus to the environment.

It’s not the den, or the kid’s room, but instead it’s now the treadmill room.

The next step is to simply get on a regular schedule. Part of the lure of home exercise is the notion that you can workout at any time without having to conform to a gym schedule. While this is certainly a plus, a workout that can be done at any time usually doesn’t get done at all.

So schedule your treadmill time just like any other important activity and defend that time like the essential activity it is. Don’t fall for the “I can just workout later in the day” temptation that home gyms present. Even if you do get to the exercise later chances are you will feel more rushed, more tired and less motivated after having to “make up” for your missed time.

The final step is to make sure your mind can be occupied while you use your treadmill. After all, walking in place on even the worlds best treadmill can be a rather boring experience. The best way to solve this issue is not so much to distract the mind but rather stimulate it.

I know a lot of people like to watch TV while on the treadmill but I find this can be a poor mental Band-Aid if you end up just flipping channels and watching programming that you normally wouldn’t watch.

I recommend scheduling your treadmill time during when you would normally watch TV so you spend less time sitting, and you can still catch your favorite shows. I’m also a big fan of pod casts because they always give you something new to look forward to plus you can learn some really great stuff as you stride along.

Also:

You can also find custom pod cast and I-phone treadmill workout programs that can motivate and guide you with workouts that are more than just a steady pace.

Little things like an air circulating fan and a water bottle can help keep your energy up so the exercise doesn’t feel so harsh. Plus it’s a good idea to use some traditional exercise clothing rather than street wear to stay cool and comfortable.
