Christian Wives, Here Is One Thing You Can’t Forget When You Pray!

Published

on

By

When you pray, you expect to receive an answer, right?

I know I do.

As a Christian wife, there are many other things I could be doing if I knew my prayers weren’t working:

Studying the word, singing worship music, washing, cleaning, or spending time with my family.

However, I know that prayer works, so that’s why I do it on a consistent basis.

I believe that many Christian wives don’t pray often because of the fear of saying the wrong thing or making a mistake, in addition to not really believing that prayer will actually work.

Yes, there are many things that can make prayer ineffective and unmeaningful, both to you and God.

But here is one of the biggest mistakes you can make when you pray: Not praying in the name of Jesus!

Hear me clearly on this mistake: Praying in the name of Jesus is like signing on the dotted line. God has given you the power of Attorney to use the name of Jesus. Everything must bow under the name of Jesus. But when you don’t pray in the name of Jesus, you are saying your prayers based on you and your power, not on God’s power.

As a Christian wife, here’s what this means if you make this mistake: You are in jeopardy of not getting your prayers answered because praying in any other name cannot guarantee an answered prayer.

Everyone needs to understand this is key because if you don’t when you come to God, He sees through His Son, so when you don’t come in the name of Jesus, you are saying that you come to Him in your own power. Is that really good enough to get your prayers answered?

My advice at this point to avoid this mistake is to Pray in the name of Jesus because His name carries power and weight that the average person is not qualified to carry. Praying in the name of Jesus tells God and Satan that you are serious about what you’re saying to Him.

Once you understand the facts about prayer you can move forward with confidence. And understanding how to avoid this mistake is a great start for any Christian wife!

But as you can see, this really is just the tip of the iceberg.

What Does a Notary Public Do?

Published

on

By

What a notary public does is witness the signing of the documents and ask each party for a sworn oath of authenticity. A notary license holder is a person legally authorized by a state to administer oaths, take acknowledgments & certify documents. A notary shall exercise no power or jurisdiction in criminal cases.

A notary must ensure that the person signing a document to be notarized is who s/he says s/he is. Because identities are critical, a notary public may also spend some time verifying the names of the parties involved in the signing.

One misconception about a notary license is that his or her official signature and/or embossing stamp automatically makes a document ‘true and legal’. Documents certified by notaries public are sealed with the notary’s seal and are recorded by the notary public in a register maintained by him/her.

The license holders seal shall either be a seal press or a rubber stamp. These shall be the exclusive property of the notary. Their signature and seal is required to authenticate the signatures on many legal documents. They then verify the person’s identity, usually done with a driver’s license, presses the seal on the document and signs it.

If you’re an inpatient, you may also ask your nurse or unit clerk to arrange for the services of a notary public without charge. Additionally, mail-box shops, copy services, and banks often provide Notary services to the public.

Authentication of a Notary Public’s signature is often required when foreign and other jurisdictions are involved. The public may access this record and verify the “official” signature of the notary at the county clerk’s office. If not, then a sample of the Notary’s signature and seal must first be authenticated by the appropriate provincial authority responsible for Notaries Public.

Each license holder shall have a seal of office, which shall be affixed to his instruments of publications and to his protestations. The term of office is usually four years commencing with the effective date specified in the notarial commission. The Office of the Secretary of State performs random background investigations on individuals submitting new or renewal notary public license applications. The applicant cannot act as a Notary Public until he receives his certificate of appointment from this office. An appointed license holder may begin notarizing documents after receipt of a certificate of appointment from the Secretary of State.

What Do You Want to Know About Jack Lalanne Juicers?

Published

on

By

Today we will answer most of your important doubts about Jack Lalanne juicing machines. The first and foremost question on everyone’s mind is about – the reliability of the juicing machines. For a long time, the Jack Lalanne juice making machines were top of the heap and best juicing machines are many Americans grew up with. They offered high juicing capability at low prices. The performance was top-notch and the construction durable. But after the great man died things started to change. The company no longer seems to be making the juice making machines and slowly phased out most models. There are a few other juicer brands who are offering co-branded versions of these juicing machines. We are unable to recommend any Jack juicer model because there doesn’t seem to be any after sales support and the few owners who have managed to buy them are not too happy with the juicer.

Another doubt that seems to be widespread is whether Jack Lalanne juicing machines are masticating juicing machines? The answer is a no. The reason why there seems to be this doubt is because of the slow speed of these juice making machines. They spin at 3600 rpm which is much less than most centrifugal juicing machines but higher than masticating juicing machines. The reason for the slow speed is of course to preserve nutrition. The juice making machines use a powerful motor to extract juice without too much heat being generated. They had stainless steel blades and mesh skin to rip through the produce and filter out the juice. They were affordable and great at juicing. After the death of iconic man not all juicer models endorsed by him are available as production has been stopped or phased out. Some models might be able available for sale on eBay if you look really hard.

What is the best model among the Jack Lalanne juicers? The answer is difficult to answer today. The reason is simple enough. They no longer in production. In the days when the Jack Lalanne juicers ruled the roost, they were so many models that dominated the juicer market space like the Jack Lalanne PJ Pro, PJ Deluxe and PJ Express and more. The juicer machines were designed with requirements of people who use them in mind. The large feed tube, the large pulp bin, the large collecting jar help in juicing without too much time wasted in preparation of ingredients. Also, the powerful motor extracted juice without causing heat build-up. With the juicer machines no longer being made there are no good Jack Lalanne juicers to recommend. Even if you manage to buy one be aware that after sales support may be lacking. Also, there are some co-branded Jack juicer models on sale but they are not in any of the best seller lists.

Now that we have answered most of your doubts regarding Jack juicing machines here’s a more important question that needs an answer. Which juicer is the best to buy? There are several great models from companies like Kuvings, Breville, Omega, Hurom Hu, Cuisinart, Tribest and more. Affordable models are offered by Mueller Austria, Aicok, AmzChef and more. You can pick from the fast juicer machines also known as centrifugal juicer machines, slow juicing machines like masticating juicers and twin-gear juicer machines. Pick a juicer that most meets your needs. Juicing should not be a chore. So, look for models that wide feed chutes and large pulp bins. Today there are many great models that have replaced the Jack Lalanne juicing machines. For fast juicer go for either Breville or Hamilton Beach. For slower juicing machines nothing like Omega. For cheaper masticating models choose Aicok and AmzChef.

Know What To Do When Your Car Breaks

Published

on

By

Owning your own automobile can give you a wonderful sense of freedom. It gives you the ability to travel the world and go wherever the road takes you. But, your car can also stop running at any time, meaning you could be stranded somewhere. The following article can help you know more about auto repair. Keep your car clean to prevent rust. Eventually cars rust, but it can be delayed by washing off chemicals and salt as soon as you can. Use a decent wax for protecting paint jobs as much as you can. Don’t leave valuables in your car while you’re having it repaired. Your personal items can get in the mechanics way, and they may have to move them. You want to remove items from your trunk also. Learn about your car so you can determine the problem in advance and save money. You can save a lot of money by diagnosing it yourself, and it could also protect you from being a victim of fraud. As you probably have heard in the past, some people that fix vehicles are lying so they’re able to get paid more. You may not be a mechanic, but your trunk should always have a spare tire and a jack at the very least. They are included with most new vehicles. You don’t need to be stuck somewhere you don’t know and need to pay a lot for towing. It will be quicker and less costly when you do it yourself. You can save yourself a great deal of money by repairing your burnt out head or tail lights yourself. This process is easier in specific vehicles and harder in others; however, doing this yourself is much more affordable than visiting a mechanic. If you know anyone who is comfortable with cars, ask if they can show you how it’s done. Use your friends as referrals before you choose an auto repair shop. Your relatives or friends may be able to tell you what they recommend so you can locate service more easily. It is still important to do your homework. Use online resources to see feedback from others as well. Before you take your car in to the shop, learn about the standard classifications for auto parts. There are several different classifications that determine the quality of the part. Obviously, “New” components are those recently created. Rebuilt or reconditioned parts are basically ones that have been restored and now are working well. Salvage parts just means used parts without any type of alterations.

Don’t try and figure out what is wrong with your car by yourself. Don’t forget, you’re not the expert! What may seem to be a simple task can be very complex, especially in the newer electric cars and also the newer computerized vehicles. Let an auto repair shop diagnose the problem. Just tell them the symptoms you are experiencing, including noises or the “feel” of the car, but then let them do their job. Be sure the mechanic you choose is properly certified. You really should be sure if they have their N.I.A.E. seal of approval at the very least. This indicates that the person should know what they are doing, and you are much more likely to get good service as a result. If you are on a budget and need auto repairs, consider looking into services offered by local vocational institutions. This gives you the option of paying less for a repair while students get the opportunity to practice under a licensed mechanic’s supervision. If your car isn’t running, it may not be necessary to spend a fortune to have it fixed. There are many times where you can repair your own car’s issues. Just use the tips you have read here to get your vehicle running again.

How Many Calories Are Burned Swimming Laps? 4 Factors to Burning Calories While Swimming

Published

on

By

Swimming is a form of exercise that provides many benefits. If you are wanting to find an overall healthy way to lose weight and become more fit, you need to find a pool and get wet! Swimming laps several times a week is a great way to burn off some serious calories. But just how many calories burn swimming laps? Well, it really boils down to 4 factors.

  1. Stroke. Freestyle is the most common swim stroke and it is not the hardest but typically allows you to accelerate faster through the water. At your top speed you can easily burn over 700 calories per hour. The butterfly stroke will be much slower but is difficult and requires more energy thus more calories burned in a shorter distance. Hard to sustain but you can again burn over 700 calories per hour. If you like taking it more easy with a long backstroke or a more leisurely freestyle or crawl stroke you might burn close to 500 calories per hour. Dog paddle anyone? Hey even this will burn you about 400 calories per hour.
  2. Speed and efficiency. A faster, more efficient swimmer will burn more calories than a slower or average swimmer. That is more calories per minute or hour, not per lap. Why make that distinction? Well, a somewhat out of control swimmer like myself will definitely spend more energy and calories fighting through the water towards that first lap but how many laps will actually happen? The faster swimmer will do a whole lot more laps and in the end burn more calories.
  3. Effort. You will burn calories just goofing off in the pool. About 400 calories per hour if you are 150 pounds and not taking it too seriously. You can burn over 700 calories per hour when you are pushing it with fast freestyle laps or harder butterfly strokes.
  4. Your weight. The heavier you are, the more calories will be burned because more weight automatically means more effort required as you move through the water.

So it varies quite a bit on the number of calories burned, but does it matter? Swimming is fun fitness for all, and did you know that you continue to burn calories after you get out of the pool? Yes, because there are types of exercise that will increase your metabolism and keep it elevated after you are done exercising. Very cool. Metabolism is the key word here.

Are you serious about burning calories and losing weight? Did you know that each of us is unique in what foods will increase our metabolism for burning calories? This is true and now there is a simple, powerful software tool that will teach you to know what those foods are for you.

How Much Are You Paying For Free Stuff?

Published

on

By

There is no such thing as free stuff in reality – someone has to create the product and pay the cost of producing it. The trick is that sometimes the cost of the stuff is transferred to another person or paid for using some alternate method that is not obvious. How can you pay for free stuff? With time, stress and restrictions as opposed to what you would normally do.

Wasting Time

Are you wasting time jumping through hoops to collect the free stuff? The saying “time is money” applies to anyone, not just business people because time is something you cannot have back once it has been lost or “used up”. The way to know how much your time costs is by comparing it to money. If I spend an hour a month working to obtain “free stuff” and I could be doing something that pays me $20 per hour, then I am paying $20 per month. There are instances where you may save time, but are not necessarily getting paid for it. What else would you rather be doing instead of chasing free stuff? Maybe you are learning something new, researching a deal that could save you money somewhere else, you can do tasks that you may be paying someone else to do, or change a habit that may save you money. This concept is very individual, and you would have to see where your time goes to understand where the trade-offs are. I often ask people: “Where Does Your Money Go?” There is a corresponding question which in many ways is more important: Where Does Your Time Go?” Given all of the complaining about not having enough time, this question should be examined more closely.

Personal Information

Many sources of free stuff will present themselves only if you provide personal information. What is wrong with this? You could argue that it does not matter to you since all of my information is out there anyway and I have nothing to hide. Whether this is true or not still leaves you vulnerable to the filling out of endless forms or sifting through telephone calls and emails which you are likely not interested in engaging in. Your information may be “shared” or sold to other vendors whom you did not deal with directly and which will add to the annoyance and time wasting. In the age of computer hacks and identity theft, the more places personal information is available, the more likely this will happen to you. Aside from the stress and time spent in cancelling credit cards, updating anti-virus software and chasing down money taken from your accounts, there is also a greater chance of fraud and theft which is a great disturbance to your life. The effects of that may linger on for years after the occurrence. The best security measure you can take is not to put information into a technology platform in the first place.

Restrictions on Shopping

The old adage of saving money on buying products is to “shop around” for the best offer. If you have ever done this, you will know there are sometimes wide divergences in the prices of goods either from different locations or different times of the year. One of my most valuable ways of saving money is to shop when / where other people do not. If you are collecting points, are you still going to do the comparison to get the best deal in spite of the points not being collected? From the people I have seen, I think the answer is no. It is not likely that one store or web site will always have the best deals. Even the known cheaper stores may have expensive products.

Being Organized

Is being organized and doing administrative tasks natural for you? If it is, tracking points and optimizing their use would be second nature to you. I find many people are the opposite – filling out forms, doing paperwork, calculating discounts or accounting for taxes on purchases is not their strong suit. If you want proof, go to dinner with a bunch of people and see how the tip is calculated. If people bother with it at all, the will use the computer or an app to do it for them. An app or computer cannot make decisions for you when it comes to buying products with intangible elements like time, aggravation and stress built into the equation.

The Pretzel

Are you forced to buy things or utilize services that you really don’t want or at times that are not convenient for you? Do these choices cost you in many other ways? A classic example is flying somewhere on points. Yes, the flight is free, but it is at 3 am on Monday morning. You may have been able to take transit to the airport, but at such an odd time, you will need a limo or a taxi cab. The flight could have been direct, but the free flight may have 1 or 2 layovers where you are wasting hours at the airport(s). Since time is being wasted at the airport, you will buy more expensive meals and utilize more roaming charges unless you plan ahead. If you have to stay overnight for a layover, there is an additional transportation and accommodation fee that is part of your trip expense, but not necessarily part of your vacation. You may need additional vacation days due to this free flight which will cost you for other vacations that you may want to take. If you are starting to feel like a pretzel, this is the point. Are you going to do a comparison to see if the pretzel flight is worth it compared to paying for a direct flight at the time you want and for the destination that you want? If you forgo the pretzel flight, maybe you will not be able to redeem these points in the future. Maybe then you will have to buy something to “use up the points”. Once you commit to these programs, you are under the rules of the issuer, and they will change to any time to accommodate the issuer and make profits. If someone is making profits, the customer is paying for those profits. The trick for you is to figure if it is worth it in spite of what can transpire.

When Is the Free Stuff Worth it?

The free stuff can be a good offer if it is treated like a discount that you were not expecting. If you take the opposite view of all of the points stated in this article, the free stuff will be a good deal. If you would have bought the product anyway on its own merit and the points are a bonus, you are not subject to additional hassles or organizational hoops, you have options to utilize the loyalty program and still get the best deal without the pretzel effect, then the free stuff is likely a good idea. The key to this concept is to observe your habits and your spending style and find a program that fits well with you instead of having to contort into whatever the program demands. You may sometimes have to abandon the programs if they are just not worth it. If you find this impossible due to the idea that “I have to use my points” at all costs, this may resemble an addiction and decisions will likely be distorted rather be a bonus

When Is Touching Flirting?

How To Know When Touching May Be Flirting

The signals of flirting can be very subtle and confusing at times. How do you know when touching is flirting, or just a casual or accident brush with someone? The signs such as a light touch, leaning close to you, or an engaging smile can be difficult to understand at times.

Some people touch just because they are naturally friendly, outgoing, touchy sort of people. That makes decoding these smoky signals trickier than ever. And when it comes to touching, flirting and just plain good buddy friendliness the line can seem pretty blurry. So here are a few guidelines to help you figure out if that special touch that makes you tingle all over is flirting, or just a friendly pat on the back.

There are many people in the world that are prone to be outgoing, and touch is part of their normal interactions with others. It is often hard to know if touching is flirting unless you know the person well. Sometime guidelines can help you understand if that brush with someone is really flirting or just a meaningless moment in time.

How Often and What Else

If you often find yourself in close contact with another person and your bodies are all the time “accidentally” brushing against each other it is very likely this is no real accident. You can assume that any regular touching is likely flirting unless it is something the person does with everyone else.

The other sign that that brush up against your arm was no casual mistake is to watch the rest of his behavior. Does he laugh at your jokes? Act more chatty, or quieter than usual around you? If your interest is a girl, watch her body language for things like leaning in to talk to you, facing her whole body towards you, and the classic head tilt and look away. Guys use a lot of playful touch in their flirting: tugging on your hair, poking and bumping. That’s right, think back to grade school. The same types of flirting are still going on!

What else was going on? Do they show other signs of interest in you? Are they more talkative or animated in your presence than is normally the case? Do they laugh at your jokes, even the bad ones? Men often use a lot of playful touching such as bumping you or stroking your hair. Girls will often lean in close to you and tilt their heads or make shy looks. Not much has changed since we were kids, it’s the same old game just a little more subtle most of the time.

Do They Look For Opportunities to Touch?

When someone is really interested in another person they will often look for any excuse to talk with you and make physical contact in some way. If you touch someone and they respond in a similar manner it is almost certainly flirting. If they appear uncomfortable or withdraw from your touch then things are not looking so good.

Pay Attention To The Signs

Make it a habit to start watching the behavior of people you aren’t interested in. You will start to observe flirting behavior whether it is through touching, body language, nerves or actions. And once you can determine flirting behavior by watching other people interact, you will be much better able to know if it is the real thing when it happens to you.

In addition to touching, see if they follow your lead. If you lean into talk does he/she lean towards you, or away? If you touch them on the arm, how does they respond? When most people really like someone, they will signal with body language, even if they are not yet comfortable with actually touching. Don’t give up easily. Many people are not very good at flirting. The more attention they pay to you, the more likely it is that they are interested.

There are many subtle signs of flirting and the passing casual touch is one of the most encouraging signs that something is really going on between you. Hopefully these tips will help you decide if touching is really flirting and give you the courage to respond in kind if you are interested in the person. Have fun!

Things to Consider When Looking for an Apartment to Rent

Published

on

By

Looking for a new apartment may either be fun or stressful and to make sure it turns out to be pleasant experience people should prepare a must-have list.

This list can vary from one person to another and some of the things to consider when searching for their next apartment are the following:

  • Location: Perhaps the most important thing to look for is a good location, which has a close proximity to work, public transportation, convenience stores as well as family and friends. Once they see an ideal apartment, they can search it on Google Maps to determine the time it takes to commute to their favorite places.

  • Storage: When touring the apartment, they should inspect the closets to see the amount of space there is. This is since they will surely bring a lot of stuff to the new apartment so the closets should be able to accommodate them all. If not, they can ask if there is another storage in the building so they can take a look at it.

  • Appliances: Though washing machines and dishwashers are not considered as essential, they can surely make life a lot easier. There are people that that use the laundry services in the building but some would rather use a washing machine in their unit. Whatever their choice, they can include it on their list.

  • Heat and air conditioning: Renters could not live without the comfort given by heat and/or air conditioning no matter what the climate is. They can check if the is A/C is centralized, one in every room or there is none at all and ask if they are allowed to install window units when needed. If there are tenants around while touring, they can ask questions concerning the temperature control and average heating bills to know what to expect when winter comes.

  • Pet policy: In case they have a pet, they should first check out the landlord’s policy. If pets are not allowed, they should just look for another place. On the other hand, if the building accepts pets but they have allergies and they cannot stand the barking dog door next door; this place may not be an ideal home for them.

  • Parking: Convenient parking space is crucial when renters have a car. They wouldn’t want to spend too much time going around in circles after a tiring day at work even if it is a very nice place. If they happen to visit the apartment on a weekend, they can drop by on a busy day to see if it is easy to park or ask the other renters if they have a difficult time.

  • Security: When the main door of the apartment opens to the sidewalk that has no common entry or fence, this may not be safe. If a renter is living by himself/herself, it would be best to look for a building that has a lobby or doorman. A smaller building with higher floors is sometimes safer than garden units or those on the ground floor.

  • Noise: The noise that renters have to withstand depends on the location of the unit plus the thickness of its walls. When the place is located on a busy street, on top of a bar or beside train tracks, renters know what to expect. They should also consider the number of surfaces they share with people next door such as the ceiling, floor and walls. There has to be at least on the top floor so there won’t be neighbors upstairs that make sound with their heels.

What Does a Company Really Look For in an Applicant?

Published

on

By

“You don’t get paid for the hour. You get paid for what you put in an hour.” – Jim Rohn

“You have to convince an employer that what they are looking for is exactly who you are.” – L

Many of the best career opportunities are never advertised. That may sound ridiculous, but I’ll convince you of that if you give me the time. This may go against the grain of your thinking, but it will make sense in a moment.

Suppose you were a Fortune 500 company and you were looking for a Vice President to helm your international shipping operations for one of your divisions, here’s why you probably won’t advertise the position.

  • You would be tipping your hand to your competitors that you are possibly expanding.
  • You might be attempting to lure a key competitor employee.
  • It might raise the question as to what is going to happen to the employee at the company who is currently in that position.
  • An advertisement could overload your human resources director with unqualified applicants and possibly overlook the right applicant.
  • That’s not the way big-business does things.

One way a company could find a key employee is to contact a Headhunter, someone who specializes in finding high-power executives. In simple terms, the Headhunter spends thousands of hours talking to executives who aren’t quite at the level that they would like to be and are open to a possible move. Over months and years the Headhunter builds up a roster of qualified people and then on the other side of the coin places calls to Fortune 500 companies to inquire if they would have interest in interviewing a particular candidate. The company may say no, but the Headhunter is hoping for a reply like, “If you should run across someone with international currency experience, speaks Spanish fluently, not averse to relocating, and has at least ten years experience in the field of geology, get back to me.

Bingo! The Headhunter didn’t sell a prospect he had in mind, but got a lead to find a particular candidate for a company. This game goes back and forth every day with hundreds of Headhunters and companies. Jobs, great jobs, and careers, are out there, but you’ll never see an ad in the classified section.

As a Financial Consultant for a number of Wall Street firms, I would regularly get a call to see if I was interested in making a move. Most executives have gotten a call from a Headhunter at their current position and many have accepted the offer to proceed to the interview stage, or move to a new company.

Keep in mind that companies are always interested in people that can join their company and fatten the bottom line, which is to say, if you can make money for a company, somebody can use you.

In my youth I worked for a personnel company in San Diego. This is how it would work. Lots of little ads were run in the Sunday classified section of the local papers with a job description and usually a starting salary or the well-known, make up to $$$$ annually verbiage.

The reaction was always the same. On Monday morning all the lines were ringing off the hook. Whoever answered the phone would evaluate the caller with a few questions and either invite them in for an interview or tell them that a more qualified candidate is needed, but probe to see if this caller could fit another job description before hanging up.

Another part of the business was calling companies asking if they were seeking employees and if so, which qualities would the job candidate need. There would be a fee of course, sometimes paid by the company looking to hire, sometimes by the job applicant who would get hired, or split between the two.

Granted, not every job candidate fit the job description perfectly, but our job was to convince both sides that it would be a perfect fit. Fees always had negotiating room, just as long as the company made money, and the rep was satisfied with the commission and either the company and/or the job candidate was willing to pay, which was my first introduction to really creative ways to finance items. Pawn jewelry, refinancing a car, in-house financing, and borrow money from the parents who want the kid out of the house and working, and credit cards of course.

Having a Headhunter is a great advantage if you are high on the food chain. If you’re on the lower end, the personnel agencies can come in handy. If you aren’t afraid of rejection you should go after what you want. This would include those with selling skills, recent graduates, and people in a so-so job who want more.

I don’t know what type of job or career you’re after, but I don’t have to. I’ll give you ways to approach the job or career that you really want. I’ll have to cover some basics, perhaps things you already know, but I’ll share my stories with you and my experience to save you some false starts and get you closer to your ideal income situation.

Let’s start with what I can’t emphasize enough and that is, you have to decide what it is what you want to do with your life. You must also realize that it may take a couple or a few, or a few dozen steps to get there.

How do you decide what it is that you want to do with your life? The short answer is that you seriously think about it. This is about what you want to do with your life, not what your parents want you to do with your life, or what your friends think you should do with your life. It’s about you!

If you’re married or married with a family there are other considerations, but you must focus on one area that you can make a living, you enjoy, and have potential for an increase in earnings as time passes.

If you currently get paid by the hour you’ll never get rich at that job. If you’re salaried, there are limitations as well. A salaried employee is someone who has agreed to work extra hours for no extra pay.

You don’t have to agree with me, but hear me out. I speak from experience. When you’re out in the job market and telling everybody you run into that you’re willing to do anything, because you just need a job, don’t expect a flood of offers.

When an employer hears that you just need a job, they know ahead of time that you won’t stick around once something better comes along and the employer really has to weigh the advantages of training you. Who wants to train someone on a job and after six months of the learning curve and the cost of mistakes they move on to something else because of a fifty cents per hour wage increase?

Never ever tell anybody that you’re willing to do anything just to get a paycheck. However, don’t be afraid to tell an employer that you’re willing to join the company in any capacity in order to come onboard of your dream company. Read that again so that you have a clear understanding of the difference. You are not going to beg for a job for the sake of a paycheck, but you’ll do any task that you’re asked just for the opportunity to prove yourself that you would make a valuable employee and benefit the company.

Companies have no problem with training good people if they know that the person is in it for the long-haul. Once you’re trained you have value and you add value to the company’s bottom-line and as I’ve said before; Companies can use people that can make them money.

The more skills you can bring to the table, the more valuable you are. Don’t be surprised if you hear the phrase, “you’re really over-qualified for this position.” I’ve heard it a few times in my life. You just have to be ready with a great reply in a respectful way, “I know that by looking at my cv I appear to be over-qualified for this position, but I’m willing to accept this position so that I can join this company and grow with it. I know it won’t be immediate, but I’m confident that the company will be able to utilize my full potential. In the meantime, I would become familiar with the different aspects of the company and the employees and be ready to fill a higher position should one open up due to promotion, attrition, or transfer. When can I join the team? Who else do I have to speak with to make my intentions known? I’m ready to go to work right now?”

Don’t let an interviewer swat you like a fly. Sometimes they’re just testing to see if you really want to work for the company and also fishing to see if they can get an over-qualified employee like you at a discounted price. The worst they can say is no and you can re-apply in thirty days, or sixty days, and so on.

You have to be willing to commit to the job and or career that you are chasing. If you’re not committed to the task at hand, it just isn’t going to work. Keep in mind you have to have a strong commitment to every company that you approach and don’t be afraid to approach a few companies at the same time. Just because Company A doesn’t have an opening right now, doesn’t mean that in three weeks a guy from Company A takes a job with Company B and creates an opportunity for you.

Stay in touch. If a company says that they just filled a position that you would be ideal for, don’t hesitate telling them that if the new hire doesn’t work out, you’d be happy to talk with the company in the future. Most companies have some sort of probation period and not everybody makes it.

That probation period can be a big plus for you, especially if they find out if the candidate they hired lied about employment, criminal record, driver’s license status, former experience, etc. Be ready, be polite, and don’t be afraid to keep at it.

I’ll share this story with you. I was working for SmithBarney in Beverly Hills, Ca. as a financial consultant, but after about a decade of the industry, my heart just wasn’t in it. I wanted out.

What did I do? I did what I’ve recommended to you. I thought long and hard about what I really wanted to do at that time in my life and came to a decision. I’d always had a love of broadcasting ever since elementary school when I heard my voice being played back from a tape recorder. I would listen to disc jockeys, Reverends, commercial announcers, and radio theatre and just dream about how cool it would be to be on-the-air.

I set my sights high. I shied away from sports, because it seemed to me that everybody wanted to be a sportscaster. My background was in finance, so I decided to go after business news.

I began my job hunt in February of 1991 and applied to every major network for radio and TV work. There were lots of rejection slips and lots of embarrassment. Friends and family thought I was crazy for even trying to get into broadcasting, but I was determined.

One by one I was being discarded and with every rejection I became more aggressive with the remaining prospects. I reassessed my efforts and concluded that I had a real talent for broadcasting with years of experience, I was more qualified than many of the broadcasters in business, and I had a passion for the airwaves.

At the time I was frustrated and consumed by my desire. I almost threw in the towel, but after nine months I was hired by CBS, rising to the position of Business Editor in Los Angeles and also doing television and talk radio for two other CBS stations in Los Angeles.

Being offered to work for CBS as long as I wanted was a just reward for my efforts and an offer from Bloomberg news was a nice stroke, but after ten years, I was ready to move on to more adventurous endeavors.

If you really want it, go after it, because even if you don’t get it, you may be lead to something that you enjoy that you never even thought of, or walk away satisfied, knowing that you gave it your all.

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination are omnipotent.” – Calvin Coolidge

Photographs and profile decoration is now also being provided as a service by professionals. Online dating profile writing is a legit service where professionals analyze your goal and optimize your profile to attract the right kind of traction.

There are different qualities in an online profile that guys look for. Here’s a breakdown of what matters most to men.

Photographs

Photos are the first thing men look at on an online dating profile. Do not use filters, keep your face visible, don’t add group photos, not even duets! Show your positive side. A snap into your personality -while cycling or just outside with your dog.

Personality

Self Summary about your life -work, education, interests -what are you into, etc. Attributes that help us picture you better. Men weigh our likings and decide to message you or skip your profile!

Qualities

Men are looking for healthy women

Believe it or not, women with the word CrossFit in their profiles are 39% more likely to get messaged than the average girl. Just showing that you take care of your body, and you’ll probably end up meeting a guy who also puts a lot of effort into staying healthy and fit himself.

Men are looking for honest women

If we go on a date with a woman that we met online, and it starts like this… wait a minute, how old are you again? Umm, 29. Then he probably won’t be into you because you’re lying and you have a beard.

Please, both men and women, be open and honest about your age, about what it is that you want, about your life, so that you do end up meeting the right match. Not for the short term, but in the long run because every single time you lie, you’re setting yourself up for an absolute dating disaster.

Compatibility Indicators

Guys love girls with a sense of humor, adventurous, nerdy, or a simple girl next door, we love the profile that we can feel compatible with and then approach.

Like watching Star wars or When Harry met Sally, put it out if you enjoy metal or pop, are you an outdoor person -display your likes & dislikes, interests, and thoughts!

Don’t pretend you’re something you’re not or you’ll attract the wrong men. It sounds shallow.

The trick to meeting men online and writing a good dating profile is to keep it simple. We want to see what you look like, we want to know you’re fun to hang out with, and we want to know you’re not going to mother us or break our balls. Most women I’ve seen lately try to sell themselves too much in their profiles.

Remember, guys will get to know you when you start to speak to them.

The profile is about giving us just enough to want to find out more about you. The simpler you keep it, the more man-friendly your online profile is.
