Jelani “J.J.” Day, a 25-year-old graduate student at Illinois State University, has been missing since August 24.

His family last heard from him on the evening of Monday, August 23, 2021.

Jelani’s mother is desperate for answers. “I can’t even describe it to you, because it hurts really bad because I don’t know where my baby is.”

Carmen Bolden Day reported Jelani missing after he failed to show up for classes at ISU. She said she last heard from him on Aug. 23.

“He told me he was going to class and that he would call me later. He called me later on that night. (He) didn’t want nothing, we were just talking. And he said again, ‘OK momma, I’ll talk to you later. I just wanted to hear your voice.’ And that was our last conversation, on Monday the 23rd.”

She said Jelani was studying to be a doctor.

Security footage showed Jelani wearing a black Jimi Hendrix Band T-shirt outside a cannabis store in Bloomington around 9:12 a.m. on August 24.

The Bloomington Police Department revealed they have no leads after his Chrysler 300 was found abandoned about 60 miles away in a wooded area near a YMCA.

The clothing Jelani wore outside the cannabis store were found in his car.

A man’s body was pulled out of the Illinois River on Sept. 4 in LaSalle County, according to WMBD. Police don’t believe the case is linked to Jelani.

The Day family is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to Jelani’s whereabouts.

Jelani’s sisters, Dacara Bolden and Zena, created a GoFundMe account to raise the reward money.

Nearly $16,000 has been raised of a $1 goal.

“I miss laughing with him,” Zena told WAND News.

“Jelani is the one I could tell jokes to, like any joke. It can be anything. It could be a part of a movie. It can just be. We don’t even have to talk. We got it. We can already know whats gonna make each other laugh.”

“Everything’s been hard, but the hardest part is just missing his presence. He’s just not there,” said Dacara.

Aw Hell Naw! Parents Of Black Florida High School Students Slam School For Suspending Children Defending Themselves Against Racist Attack

Close the whole damn school down!

Last summer BOSSIP reported on this exact same Florida high school after a Black family received an intensely racist letter following the graduation of their straight-A twin girls Xanah and Xarah Sproul. Racism in Florida is par for the course but dammit we are not about to let it slide!

According to a Newsweek article, Yulee High School is again embroiled in racist controversy after several white students got together to record a video brimming with racist slurs while wearing KKK hoods. At one point during the hate-filled Snapchat video, one of the students says, “Hold on, you see that? It’s a n*****” and points to the camera. This video was then sent directly to a group of Black students at the school. In response to the racist attack, the students ran down on the offending soup cookies and laid hands on them in order to deliver them from evil. Here’s what Nassau County Public School Assistant Superintendent Mark Durham had to say:

“It resulted in a physical altercation involving several students. Disciplinary actions consistent with the district’s code of conduct have been given to students involved in the altercation and in sending the Snap Chat video.”

The parents of the Black students are PISSED that the school would attempt to discipline their children for defending themselves against the satanic soup cookie classmates.

One, Melissa Ricks, said she was “enraged” after her son received the video.

“No one deserves that…it is 2021 and until people start screaming…nothing is going to change,” she said. “I have never felt rage like this in my life. In my life. To know that this video was sent directly to my kid.”

Can’t blame her. Hell, we wouldn’t blame Melissa if she ran down on one of those kids’ parents because those white kids did NOT learn that type of behavior from TV and movies. No tellin what type of stuff their parents say about Black people inside the kkkomfort of their homes.

Ed Sheeran’s Positive COVID-19 Diagnosis Has ‘SNL’ Producers ‘Scrambling’ To Replace Him

While Ed Sheeran is quarantined due to his positive COVID test, producers for ‘Saturday Night Live’ are reportedly seeking someone with a similar audience to the English heartthrob.

COVID-19 is still ruining plans! After Ed Sheeran revealed that he had tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday October 24, and it has put Saturday Night Live in a tough spot, according to a report by Page Six. The “Shape Of You” singer was announced as the musical guest for the November 6 episode with host Kieran Culkin, 39, but now producers for SNL are reportedly trying to find someone to take over musical duties.

When the 30-year-old singer announced that he’d tested positive, he noted that he’d unfortunately be forced to cancel in-person performances, and he would try to do things remotely. “It means that I’m now unable to plough ahead with any in person commitments for now, so I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house,” he said in an Instagram post.

While Ed has made the offer to perform remotely, it seems unlikely to happen. “Ed is offering to perform live via video link, but this isn’t something ‘SNL’ does,” the source told Page Six. “The show likes to have the performer in studio.” Since Ed won’t be able to make it for the performance, the source also mentioned that the show were looking for “another singer, who appeals to the same demo,” such as Shawn Mendes or Justin Bieber.

Ed is definitely playing it safe after testing positive for COVID. A similar situation happened during SNL’s 2020 season, when country singer Morgan Wallen was videotaped breaking the show’s COVID protocols and seen partying in TikTok videos in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Morgan was scheduled to perform in the season’s second episode with host Bill Burr, but got cut from the episode. “I got a call from the show that I will no longer be able to play. And that’s because of COVID protocols, which I understand,” he said at the time. The show replaced the country singer with Jack White. Morgan later appeared in the seventh episode of the seeason with host Jason Bateman.

Violence Ends at Louisiana High School After Concerned Dads Go On Patrol

CBS Evening News

23 students were arrested at Southwood High School in Shreveport, Louisiana for fighting over the course of three days.

The violence ended when a group of Black fathers decided to take matters into their own hands and patrol the school’s hallways.

The fathers call themselves “Dads On Duty” and they have already made a difference in a school that was known for violence among the students and toward teachers.

Southwood is a majority Black high school where the students are primarily raised by single mothers in fatherless households.

Parent Michael LaFitte saw a need for strong Black fathers to patrol the hallways to represent the father figures that some students lack at home.

“We’re dads. So, we decided the best people who can take care of our kids are who? Are us,” LaFitte, told CBS Evening News.

Another dad said, “Because not everybody has a father figure at home.” LaFitte added, “Or a male, period, in their life. So just to be here makes a big difference.”

The men don’t just patrol the hallways to protect their own children, they also get to know the students on a first name basis.

Dads On Duty are examples of real men for young Black males. They encourage students to do better in class — things a father would do at home.

Dads On Duty has 40 members who volunteer to work shifts at the school as peace-keepers.

The group is so successful that there are are plans to take Dads On Duty national with chapters in cities where school violence is rampant – such as Chicago, New York City, and Atlanta.
