She said the Covid lockdown was “tough” on her mentally because she wasn’t used to being alone. “It was tough. Tough for everyone — mentally, especially. The world wasn’t making sense.”

She told Vogue magazine:

“I was able to be still for a long time. Inspiration finally came when I remembered the little things that I love to do, the simple things that make me happy: grocery shopping, taking walks, going on bike rides, cooking.

“Those little things that I’m trying to incorporate into my lifestyle now that the outside is opening up again and we’re about to get right back into what things used to look like. I’m trying to make sure that I still keep those things in my life.”

When it comes to her own self-confidence, Rihanna said:

“I make a point to be present, I look at what’s around me, who is around me.

“And then I’m just grateful for those things; grateful for the moment. I think about how far I’ve come. And how much worse it could be — I could have missed all of this.”

However, there are still days when she doesn’t feel so confident, and she has a tip for those days.

“Pretend. Just pretend, girl. You have your days where you do and your days where you don’t, but push through, just be sure. You belong here, you’re sexy. Own your sh*t.”

Cumberland County Sheriff

A U.S. Army sergeant who fatally shot his pregnant mistress as she drove on a Georgia highway, was arrested in North Carolina.

Alonzo Dargan Jr., 30, was arrested at Fort Bragg in Cumberland County on Thursday.

Dargan was on active duty at Fort Bragg as a staff sergeant, Channel 2 Action News reports.

Dargan is accused of killing Akeila Ware, 29, of LaGrange, Ga., and their unborn child, as she drove on Highway 18 in Troup County, Ga. on Tuesday, October 5.

Dargan has been charged with murder, feticide and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Authorities initially believed Ware was shot during a road rage incident.

After Ware was shot, her bullet-riddled Honda Accord veered off the highway and crashed near E. Drummond Road.

Georgia State Patrol troopers responding to a report of a single-car crash found Ware unresponsive inside the car, authorities said.

Ware and her unborn child were pronounced dead at a Columbus-area hospital.

Ware, a single mother of five, was expecting her 6th child.

Dargan is married with children. None of Ware’s other children were fathered by Dargan.

Troup County Sheriff James Woodruff announced Dargan’s arrest in a press conference on Friday morning.

“I could not believe somebody had shot and killed a young mother with five children,” Woodruff said. “And on top of that, killed her and she had a baby inside her that resulted in the death of that baby.”

Woodruff said Dargan grew up in Troup County.

Charlie Sheen Spotted On Solo Grocery Shopping Trip After Denise Richards Child Support Drama

Published

Following his child support victory in court, Charlie Sheen stepped out to shop for some groceries in Malibu.

Charlie Sheen stepped out for a grocery run ahead of the weekend in Malibu on October 8. The former Two and a Half Men star, 56, was photographed on Friday after purchasing two tote bags’ worth of sustenance. He looked casual in a flannel shirt and sweatpants, covering up his mouth with a surgical face mask.

The outing comes after the actor scored a victory in court on October 4. A judge granted his request to stop paying child support to ex-wife Denise Richards for their two daughters, Sami, 17, and Lola, 16, since both of them now live with him. Charlie first filed the request in December 2019. Denise, 50, reportedly did not file any opposing paperwork.

The actor will now pay his ex-wife a sum total of zero dollars, per the court documents obtained by HollywoodLife. As he departed the courthouse that day, Charlie called the decision “fair” when approached by Us Weekly. “I think what transpired today is extremely fair,” he said. “It speaks to not just today, but it speaks historically to that same fairness.”

It has been reported, however, that Denise was “blindsided” by the court date and the ruling. It appears that the actress may have missed the hearing since she is currently traveling for work, per her Instagram post from October 2. A source told PEOPLE that the couple’s youngest daughter Lola lives with both parents — and accused Charlie of “manipulating the situation.”

“Charlie filed two years ago and kept pushing the court date, so Denise was very surprised that it happened yesterday while she is out of town filming,” the source said. “She was blindsided. . . Lola does not live with Charlie. She lives with both of her parents and stays with Charlie when Denise is out of town. When Denise is back, Lola will be with her.”

The source added, “This is very disappointing for Denise, but also not surprising. Charlie is pitting the girls against their mother, which is horrible.” A second insider, however, told the outlet that Denise “has known about the court date for six months,” resulting in conflicting information. The two were previously married between 2002 and 2006.

The court decision comes after a source told HL in September that eldest daughter Sami moved out of Denise’s home because she didn’t agree with her “mother’s rules.” The source said, “[Denise] and Charlie have different rules and styles of parenting and [they] didn’t see eye to eye. Sami decided she liked Charlie’s rules better and wanted to go and live with her father . . . Denise is incredibly saddened, but knows she is doing her best as a mother.”

Say What? Raising Cane’s Sends Corporate Staff To Work In-Store Amid Staff Shortages

When the pandemic came in like a thief in the night millions, around the world were laid off at a moment’s notice, sending millions to unemployment benefits in order to not completely drown in their bills. The harsh reality of the situation is that it broke the cycle of people working under-paying jobs they likely would have never left.

Many are looking to get back to work after the unemployment benefits have since expired, but they aren’t willing to risk their health and safety for minimum wage. Many have found work in higher paying jobs and work from home jobs, leaving minimum wage jobs and fast food restaurants with staffing shortages. Instead of raising wages, though, everyone has weird solutions to help fix the problem. Some McDonald’s locations have reportedly offered bonuses and even iPhones–but Raising Cane’ may have the wildest solution we’ve seen yet.

The chicken finger chain is taking their corporate staff and making them work as fry cooks and cashiers in their stores. Of course, this isn’t a great long term solution, but corporations are going to any length to avoid raising wages. In the end, they might as well give in as every solution thus far hasn’t worked.

Tom Selleck’s Kids: Meet His Children Kevin & Hannah

Published

on

Tom Selleck

Tom Selleck is a proud father of two adult children, son Kevin and daughter Hannah. Find out more about the actor’s kids here.

Tom Selleck, 76, is known by most as the beloved actor whose starred in shows like MagnumP.I., Friends and Blue Bloods. But off the screen, Tom is a doting father to his two children: son Kevin Selleck, 55, and daughter Hannah Selleck, 32. Tom welcomed his kids under fairly different circumstances with two different women, but he loves them both the same. And while his children are now grown, Tom still holds them dear to his heart. “You never stop being a dad even though your kids are grown,” he told Parade in September 2018.

Below is everything you need to know about Kevin and Hannah Selleck.

Kevin Selleck

Tom was previously married to model Jacqueline Ray from 1971 to 1982, during which he adopted Jacqueline’s son Kevin from a previous relationship. Kevin, who was born Kevin Shepard, was 21 years old when he was adopted by the famed actor. Kevin went on to join the music industry, forming the rock band Toxic in 1993 with Emerson Hart, Jeff Russo, Dan Lavery and Dan Rothchild. The group released its debut album, Lemon Parade, in 1996 before Kevin quit the band, citing personal and family issues. However, reports stated that his exit was due to a fight between Kevin and another member of the group.

Kevin also briefly took up acting at one point. In 1987, he appeared in an episode of Magnum, P.I. alongside Tom. A decade later, he wrote the soundtrack to the horror film Scream 2, according to his IMDb page. Over the years, reports have stated that Kevin has struggled with drug addition. He was reportedly sent to the Betty Ford Rehabilitation Center at Tom’s behest, and eventually got clean. However, Tom has never publicly spoken about his son’s alleged struggles. Today, Kevin is seemingly healthy and has six children with his wife, costume designer Annabel Selleck.

Hannah Selleck

Tom’s second child, Hannah, was born on December 16, 1988. Hannah’s mom is actress Jillie Joan Mack, whom Tom married on August 7, 1987, five years after he split from Jacqueline. Tom and Jillie are still together today, though they’re not often seen out together in public. Hannah is not in the spotlight as much as her dad, but there are some interesting facts about her to note.

For starters, Hannah is an established equestrian pro. Per reports, she’s won a string of medals at various horseback riding competitions, including the 2010 Blenheim Summer Classic in California. In 2011, she told Equestrian Living magazine that her parents convinced her to pursue horseback riding. “Because [my parents are] both artists, they believe in the idea that you have to be very passionate about what you do to be successful,” she said. “They encouraged me to be passionate about it and immersed in it, and from there it was kind of on me how much I wanted it. They always let me take the lead. If I wanted to move barns or trainers, that was my decision.”

Hannah additionally pursued her career in horseback riding by founding Descanso Farm, a horse breeding company that Tom is also involved with. “We want to show that we can produce horses in the States, having them on the ground as foals and bringing them up through the young horse classes,” Hannah said in her EL interview. “But we don’t want to just get the horse to the ring quickly; I want to make it right so that it has a long career.” Aside from equestrian, Hannah has also dipped her toe in modeling. She’s reportedly appeared on the covers of magazines like Palm Beach Illustrated, Equestrian Living, and Horse & Style.

RHOBH: Erika Jayne Slams Garcelle, Sutton and Crystal’s LA Times Article as “Fiction,” Lisa and Kathy Weigh in

Erika Jayne clapped back at her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmates on Twitter after coming across their recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, which was titled, “‘We could be implicated’: How scandal consumed ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.’”

As other cast members reacted to the article on Instagram, Erika shaded the claims of Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke, and Crystal Kung-Minkoff as “pure fiction” as she reacted to Garcelle’s statement regarding potential implication.

“Pure fiction,” Erika tweeted, along with a link to the article on October 7.

In a second tweet, Erika responded to a fan who suggested she “didn’t even read the article.”

“Honey, [I’m] the lead… ‘We could be implicated’ No, you can’t. Period,” Erika replied.

As Erika called her RHOBH co-stars out on Twitter, Sutton shared a group photo on Instagram.

“Fun day doing this interview with [Garcelle Beauvais] and [Crystal Kung-Minkoff] for the [Los Angeles Times]. And, yes, I’ve read it three times,” Sutton wrote in the caption of her photo, also adding a winking face.

As RHOBH fans will recall, Sutton took it upon herself to read a Los Angeles Times article written about Erika and the legal troubles she was facing with Thomas Girardi, including claims of embezzlement and numerous lawsuits, several times before questioning Erika about what she knew of the alleged crimes.

In the comments section of Sutton’s post, Lisa shared a message in which she joked that her RHOBH castmates had created their own friend group, much like she, Kyle Richards, Erika, Dorit Kemsley, and Teddi Mellencamp did amid season 10.

“Ahhh [your] very own Fox Force Five,” she wrote, according to a screenshot from Comments by Bravo on Instagram.

“I don’t like labels,” Sutton replied.

Although Sutton doesn’t like labels, Garcelle doesn’t seem to have a problem with them and actually deemed the trio “the three house-keteers” on a post of her own.

Following the sharing of Garcelle’s Instagram post, Kathy Hilton weighed in.

“Great article [L.A. Times]!!!” she said in a comment.

Peero For The People: This Black Woman In Tech Created An App To Bridge The Employment Gap

Happy Friday! We’re super excited to introduce you to a Black tech founder whose app is helping people find jobs.

Cleveland, OH native Dr. Rachel Angel originally pursued a career in Pharmacy after learning about the industry through conversation with a peer, because she was seeking job stability and a six-figure income. That conversation actually also planted the seed for her career pathway management system, Peerro. After receiving a Pharm.D. degree from Hampton University at the age of 24, Dr. Angel worked as a practicing pharmacist for 10 months when she decided to launch a nonprofit organization to empower the youth by introducing them to new opportunities.

Dr. Angel was able to raise $1.3 million in capital from investors whoo believed in her vision. Her value proposition for providing a more efficient system for employment candidates and related services was further validated when Franklin County, the largest district in the state of Ohio, began using Peerro’s software. She was also the only black app to recently be featured in The Wall Street Journal next to Indeed, Glassdoor and linkedin.

Founded in 2015, the company moniker combines the words peer and hero — placing great emphasis on how horizontal networking can lead to a peer influencing another person’s life in a positive way. As a result of a fellow student changing the trajectory of her life, Dr. Angel charged herself with the task of creating technology to duplicate that experience for other young people and opportunity seekers of all ages to build their careers. Peerro benefits both students and employers by bridging the gap between a skilled talent pool and realistic job requirements.

“We pride ourselves on aligning the interests of job seekers with the needs of employers,” Dr. Angel says of Peerro.

Peerro’s user-friendly mobile app gives instant access to available jobs that match an individual’s criteria and also identifies training in their area, which helps to streamline the hiring process.

“We provide users with actionable steps to implement immediately at the click of a button but we also help map out as well as guide them through their long-term plans. I had a 10-year plan as a teenager and it proved to be invaluable because I was able to measure my progress and readjust as needed. I placed myself back into the role of an 18-year-old student and incorporated all of those beneficial elements into Peerro.”

The app has proven to be a pivotal resource with multiple stories of young people gaining access to employment through technology.

As a Black woman in the tech space, Dr. Angel understands the challenges that make it hard for someone who looks like her to navigate their way to the top.

“Being a black woman in this position, I don’t have a choice but to be an activist. I accept the responsibility of being an agent of change and a person who breaks down barriers and fearlessly speaks truth.”

Angel adds, “We exist to provide access as well as actionable instruction and education to individuals seeking a seat at the proverbial table. I’m genuinely inspired by all the ways sharing just a small bit of information can help change the course of a person’s life journey. The way I see it, when one of us wins, we all win.”

Donald Trump says many Haitian refugees ‘probably have AIDS’ (Audio)

Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images

Donald Trump is catching heat for statements he made about Haitian migrants at the U.S. border.

The U.S. border patrol expects 60,000 Haitians to arrive at the Texas-Mexican border within days.

In a phone interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News last night, said many of the Haitian migrants will probably have AIDS.

The former President said:

“So, we have hundreds of thousands of people flowing in from Haiti. Haiti has a tremendous AIDS problem. AIDS is a step beyond. AIDS is a real bad problem.

“Many of those people will probably have AIDS and they’re coming into our country. And we don’t do anything about it. We let everybody come in.”

Trump added: “Sean, it’s like a death wish. It’s like a death wish for our country.”

The U.S. resettled 15,000 Haitian refugees across the country following public uproar over border agents on horseback corralling Haitian migrants in September.

Many on social media said Trump’s words were far worse than current Pres. Joe Biden ordering the migrants deported back to Haiti on U.S. Coast Guard planes.

Others noted that Trump was correct because Haiti has the highest rate of AIDS in the Western Hemisphere.
