Meghan Markle Confesses She & Prince Harry Were ‘Overwhelmed’ After Lili’s Birth

Meghan Markle wrote an open letter about paid family leave to the U.S. Congress and shared what life is like for her and Prince Harry now that they’re parents of two.

Meghan Markle, 40, is speaking out about what life has been like for her and her husband Prince Harry, 37, since the birth of their second child, daughter Lili, in June. The Duchess of Sussex wrote an open letter about paid family leave to U.S. Congress and admitted that despite the joy her new baby has brought her and her family, it’s not always easy.

“In June, my husband and I welcomed our second child,” she wrote in the letter, which was published on Oct. 20. “Like any parents, we were overjoyed. Like many parents, we were overwhelmed.”

The former Suits star went on to describe her life as a mom with her son Archie, 2, and now four-month-old Lili in the letter after having previously said having “two is definitely a juggle” at the 2021 WellChild Awards in July. She explained how important it is to both make a living and raise children and said she doesn’t believe parents should have to choose between the two.

“No family should have to choose between earning a living and having the freedom to take care of their child (or a loved one, or themselves, as we would see with a comprehensive paid leave plan),” she continued to write. “In taking care of your child, you take care of your community, and you take care of your country — because when paid leave is a right, we’re creating a foundation that helps address mental health outcomes, health care costs and economic strength at the starting line.”

Meghan’s open letter was shared by Paid Leave for All, the national campaign of organizations fighting for paid family and medical leave in the U.S., on their website. Paid family leave is one of the cornerstones of President Joe Biden‘s administration but it’s in danger of being removed from the social safety net bill Democrats are currently trying to pass. Meghan’s letter was addressed to political bigwigs like Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and in it, she also explained why she thinks paid family leave is worth fighting for.

“Paid leave should be a national right, rather than a patchwork option limited to those whose employers have policies in place, or those who live in one of the few states where a leave program exists,” she explained. “This is about putting families above politics.”

In the clip, Neri describes how N.O.R.E, proposed but complains he never actually got down on one knee. After her husband jokes that she took too long to figure out what was going on, Neri responds that he could have used the time to get down on one knee — only to have them both ultimately laugh off the issue. As a result, Amber questions why the couple is there since they don’t seem to really have problems in their marriage. Siir Brock takes things a step further saying that he feels N.O.R.E. and Neri have done the least work on their relationship, pointing out that Monie Love gets super vulnerable in sessions. He then asks N.O.R.E. to be honest about whether he’s ever told Neri to “Shut the f*** up”… WHOA.

Check out the clip below:

What do you think? Were Brock and Amber fair to ask N.O.R.E and Neri why they’re not being more vulnerable? Or do you think N.O.R.E and Neri are just using boundaries to protect the sanctity of their marriage.

Christie Brinkley Reveals If She’d Return To Broadway 10 Years After Playing Roxie Hart In ‘Chicago’

Could we see Christie Brinkley return to the stage once more? The 67-year-old stunner revealed to HL if she would do another Broadway show!

Remember when Christie Brinkley played Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway… and all that jazz? The iconic top model just helped the beloved show celebrate its 25th anniversary on Broadway and it had us all wondering if we would ever see Christie’s name in marquee lights once again! “I doubt it! I mean, I never say never, because you never know. You never know, but it’s a real commitment and a rigorous schedule,” the 67-year-old told HollywoodLife.com in an EXCLUSIVE interview at the Footwear News Achievement Awards on Nov. 30. “When I do something… I would an eight show a week, personally, you know, I don’t come in and do like, easy stuff! I would do it all!”

Recall, Christie marked her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Bob Fosse‘s Chicago in 2010, and was due to reprise the role for a short, four-week engagement in 2019 on the national tour, which was cancelled due to the pandemic. “When Producer Barry Weissler offered me the chance to come back to Chicago The Musical, I thought I was dreaming…but it was actually my dream coming true…AGAIN!” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “I am honored and overjoyed to reprise the role of Roxie Hart and l am thrilled to get to work with the consummate professionals and artists who bring this iconic Kandor and Ebb masterpiece to life for appreciative audiences 8 times a week. It is a privilege I cherish, and an adventure.”

In talking to HL, Christie couldn’t help but gush over the current star playing Roxie Hart, Ana Villafañe. “Oh she is incredible! She has so much nuance and you can tell, in the moment, she’s always thinking, just like Roxie does in the show. I really enjoyed watching her, she was incredible,” the model recalled. Christie watched Ana in action as Roxie while celebrating the show’s 25th anniversary, during which she also showed she’s still got it (duh!) — kicking up her legs and throwing some jazz hands while lighting up the Empire State Building.
