An armed security guard was shot outside the home where Jacqueline Avant, wife of music legend Clarence Avant, was shot and killed early Wednesday.

Jacqueline, 81, was fatally shot by a gunman who forced his way into the couple’s Beverly Hills area mansion. Clarence Avant, 90, was at home but wasn’t harmed, a source tells TMZ.

The security guard who was stationed outside the home was shot and wounded. He did not return fire, police say.

Beverly Hills police responded to a 911 call from the residence around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the upscale Truesdale estates.

They found Mrs. Avant suffering from a single gunshot wound inside the residence. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital later that morning.

Police found a broken glass door at the rear of the mansion. They believe the home invaders targeted the elderly couple whose mansion is valued at $7 million.

Various upscale Los Angeles neighborhoods have been plagued by a string of “follow-home” robberies.

Former BET host and actor Terrence “J” Jenkins, 39, was followed on his way home to his Sherman Oaks neighborhood by someone in an SUV who opened fire at his car around 3 a.m. on November 10. He managed to escape with his life.

Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore announced that a police task force has been created to apprehend “follow-home” robbers.

California is also plagued by crowbar-wielding smash-and-grab burglars who invade high end stores such as Louis Vuitton and Nordstrom.

Louie Anderson: Henry Winkler, Gilbert Gottfried & More Honor ‘Dear Friend’ After His Death At 68

The tragic death of Louie Anderson left such stars as Pauley Shore, Gilbert Gottfried, and DL Hughley heartbroken over the loss of their ‘kind’ and ‘gracious’ friend.

The death of Louie Anderson on Friday (Jan. 21) sent shockwaves throughout the comedy world. The Baskets star and standup comedy icon reportedly passed away while receiving treatment for non-Hodgkins lymphoma, a diagnosis he announced just days before. While many had hoped that Louie, 68, would beat cancer, such was not the case, which left many of his peers devastated. “No words!” tweeted DL Hughley. “RIP Louie!! One of my all-time favorites.” “RIP Louie Anderson! You were as gracious and kind as you were funny. Rest well!! Keep ’em laughing in Heaven,” tweeted Viola Davis.

“Louie Anderson. Your generosity of spirit will cover the world from above,” tweeted Henry Winkler. “We are so lucky you were on earth for a moment, spreading your humor all over like bars of living gold. Good Bye.” Michael McKean, best known for Spinal Tap and the Christopher Guest mockumentaries, tweeted how Baskets was “such a phenomenal ‘second act’ for Louie Anderson. I wish he’d gotten a third. RIP.” Gilbert Gottfried posted a photo of Bob Saget, who passed away on Jan. 9 at age 65, taking a selfie alongside Gilbert and Louie. “This photo is very sad now. RIP Bob Saget and RIP Louie Anderson. Both good friends that will be missed.”

Hours before Louie passed, Pauley Shore tweeted, “Attention comedians and [The Comedy Store] alumni’s I say this with a heavy heart just left the hospital in Las Vegas where Louie Anderson his sisters and close friend were kind enough to let me say my goodbyes he’s still with us but keep him in your prayers.” When a fan responded, “please let him know that we love him, Pauly,” the Son In Law star replied, “I did.”

“Louie Anderson was a very dear friend and one of the people who very early in my career believed in me,” tweeted Travon Free, “and would put me and a couple of other comics he loved up in a hotel in Vegas and pay us to open for him when we needed money. What a huge loss. Rest in peace my friend.”

Legendary record producer, musician, and poker player Steve Albini recounted how Louie Anderson – who played in the 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event — once “blew 80 grand, all his money, gambling in LA, then rented a car, drove to Vegas in the middle of the night and used a casino line of credit to win it all back in the pit by sunup, caught a 7am flight and went straight to shoot a 7-11 commercial. Requiescat.”

Born in 1953 and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Louie rose to prominence in the early 1980s after a star-making appearance on The Tonight Show, then hosted by Johnny Carson. Louie’s observational comedy about his life growing up in St. Paul was the basis of the animated series, Life With Louie, which introduced him to a generation of GenXers and Millennials. Throughout Louie’s career, he appeared in movies like Coming to America, The Wrong Guys, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. He also hosted Family Feud from 2000 to 2002. His run on Baskets earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Adem Dalipi Goes ‘Out Of The Box’ To Ask For A Second Chance At Love With ‘Call You Mine’

Adem Dalipi Goes ‘Out Of The Box’ To Ask For A Second Chance At Love With ‘Call You Mine’

If you’ve ever lost sleep and felt ‘out of touch’ while missing someone, then you know the pain at the heart of Adem Dalipi’s new song.

Something’s wrong at the start of “Call You Mine,” the new video from Adem Dalipi, premiering here at HollywoodLife. The young pop/R&B artist is out on a boat with some friends, floating around the water as the sun sets. We flash to earlier in the day when the party was in full swing. The ladies are flirting. The bros are chilling. However, Adem doesn’t seem to be in the mood; in fact, he seems distracted, and he is. Adem is haunted by the thoughts of a former flame, one he wants to reignite. The smooth singer swears he’s been “waiting for a message from you / I’m losing sleep” while ignoring the rest of the world. As the sun sets on “Call You Mine,” Adem is alone, hoping for an answer to that question. ‘

Not only does “Call You Mine” become the next big song to send to your crush to let them know you’re thinking about them, but it also showcases a new musical side from the Chicago-based singer. “‘Call You Mine’ is something out of the ordinary from what I usually write,” Adem tells HollywoodLife, “and honestly, [it] was a bit out of the box with the writing process too. It started with a synth loop, which really pushed my writing aspects as it allowed me to mess with the vibe, creating this pop-rap feel. The guitar part was a fun touch to the song as well.”

“Overall, this whole song and project was a blast to work with,” he adds, “especially with the music video we made for it, which really depicts the emotions put into the song.”

Adem isn’t letting the grass grow under his feet. After a phenomenal year – which saw him release four songs (“Sixth St.,” “Through Anothers Eyes,” “Empty Promises,” “Nothing I Wouldn’t Do”) and continue to grow his fanbase, Adem has started 2022 off right.

Born in Rockford, Illinois, and growing up in the small town of Belvidere, Adem started showing a natural talent for singing at an early age. By eleven, he learned how to play guitar and wrote his first song. It wouldn’t be long before Hollywood came calling – literally. He found his way out west while appearing on American Idol in 2020, impressing the judges and audiences alike. Adem parlayed that newfound attention into a rising career, and others started to take notice of this bright talent. In addition to getting love from the Windy City – both Chicago SoundCheck and the Chicago Music Guide have featured him – he recently became a Yamaha Guitar Ambassador. Expect greatness from him, and if you want to call him your favorite new artist, you can go ahead.

The brown M&Ms white pumps have been lowered to befit a school teacher and the green M&M will trade in her go-go boots for white sneakers.

Mars, Inc. made the changes to bring the characters in line with the company’s commitment to gender balanced leadership.

“We’re excited to reveal our new M&M’S brand look and feel, which fans will see come to life across all M&M’S touchpoints around the globe,” said Jane Hwang, Global Marketing Vice President, Mars Wrigley.

M&Ms also changed the tan flesh tone arms and legs of the six characters to white.

Twitter is not amused.
