Every Sunday, Kevin Cusick makes his predictions against the latest Las Vegas point spread, the way God intended …

Rams at Vikings (+2½)

Former Rams star Kurt Warner is in the spotlight this week with the release of the new movie about his fabled career, “American Underdog.” If the film does well at the box office they’ll be following it up with another quarterbacking tale about the Vikings’ Kirk Cousins: “Overpaid Mutt.”
Pick: Rams by 11

Chargers at Texans (+9½)
Los Angeles tight end Donald Parham struck his head and began shaking uncontrollably during last Thursday’s game against the Chiefs. The incident served as a reminder to all TV viewers on Fox that Joe Buck is even worse as a medical expert than he is at his day job.
Pick: Chargers by 14

Broncos at Raiders (-1½)
Peyton Manning reportedly is interested in buying a share of the Broncos, with whom he won Super Bowl L six years ago. The retired quarterback would be a minority owner, and he would have very little impact on the franchise … kind of like he did in his final season of 2015.
Pick: Raiders by 3

Lions at Falcons (-5½)
There was lots of medical news coming out of Detroit in the hours after the Lions’ upset blowout of first-place Arizona. Quarterback Jared Goff was placed on the COVID-19 list, and thousands of Lions fans were treated for acute shock.
Pick: Falcons by 7

Buccaneers at Panthers (+10½)
An angry Tom Brady raised eyebrows during last week’s shutout loss to New Orleans when he was caught on camera telling a Saints coach to perform a physically impossible act. The incident will be covered exhaustively in the next edition of ESPN’s “Pottymouth in the Arena.”
Pick: Buccaneers by 7

Jaguars at Jets (-2½)
A drunken Jacksonville fan was tackled in the end zone by police last Sunday as James Robinson scored on a 1-yard touchdown plunge. Fans witnessing the action were shocked to their core, as they couldn’t believe the Jaguars could score a touchdown without Urban Meyer.

Ravens at Bengals (-2½)
Baltimore lost its second game in a row by gambling on a late two-point conversion and failing. There’s still hope for the rest of the season, though, as Ravens coach John Harbaugh has entered an outpatient program to be treated for his Overtime Avoidance Disorder.
Pick: Bengals by 4

Bills at Patriots (-2½)
New England grouch Bill Belichick shocked reporters by apologizing for being short with them in his press conference after last week’s loss in Indianapolis. It appears the coaching Scrooge was scared straight after a nightmare visit from the Ghost of Pressers Past.
Pick: Bills by 7

Steelers at Chiefs (-8½)
Kansas City, the two-time defending AFC champion, can lock up another playoff berth with a victory over the barely-afloat Steelers. Now all they have to do is find a way to get the Chiefs’ entire starting lineup off the COVID-19 list.
Pick: Chiefs by 3
