If you’re human, you’ve been there: It’s Feb. 14 at 2 p.m., roses cost a billion dollars a dozen and restaurants are booked solid. You haven’t done a thing about Valentine’s Day and now it’s scramble time.

Let this be the year you plan ahead, come up with a thoughtful, heartfelt gesture for your SO, and make Valentine’s Day great again.

Fortunately, Boston has your back. Consider these creative ways to celebrate and get booking. You might surprise your partner — and yourself.

Poetry: There’s not enough time to get an MFA and draft a classic poem for your love, but the Revere Hotel Boston Common (reverehotel.com) has the perfect escape for the lover of poetry and literature.

Their monthlong Prosecco and Poetry Package hits a high point Valentine’s weekend.

The artwork-accented hotel offers views of either the city skyline or the Back Bay from spacious rooms or suites.

The package includes a welcome a bottle of prosecco, six French macarons, a book of love poems and a 3 p.m. late checkout so you can linger in the romance.

You can book that all month, but V-weekend has some extras, including a chocolate tasting in the main lobby on Feb. 11, a special menu at their onsite restaurant, Rebel’s Guild, on the Feb. 11 and 12, a Valentine’s Brunch on Feb. 12 and 13, and on Feb. 14, a Bourbon and Burger night.

The hotel at 200 Stuart St. is steps away from Boston’s best spots, including the Public Library, where you can scour the shelves for some scintillating sonnets, and the Common, where you can stroll and sip a latte while reciting iambic pentameter.

The hotel even has complimentary in-house Netflix in case you want to … and  chill.

Posh: It’s never a wrong choice to treat your love to luxury. Boston’s Kimpton Nine Zero Hotel (ninezero.com) at 90 Tremont St. is a perfect spot for just that. And if this is the year you decide to suddenly take the plunge, consider their over-the-top Urban Elopement Package.

You’ll settle into their Penthouse suite on the 19th floor (the views alone are worth the stay), and be set up with an officiant to help you tie the knot, a romantic dinner for two with a beautiful wedding cake, breakfast, bubbles, a flower arrangement and more.

Partake: The food vibe for Valentine’s Day is strong as well. Consider heading to Lola 42 at 22 Liberty Drive (lola42.com) for their Valentine’s Evening only “Sensual Sushi Platter for Two.”  You’ll share three pieces each of Toro Nigiri, Toro Sashimi and Toro Tartare topped with Osetra caviar.

You can sip their Aphrodite cocktail, a blend of tequila, lemon, honey, passion fruit (of course!), strawberry and Thai chili.

Over at 3 North Square, Mamma Maria (mammamaria.com) brings a special prix fixe dinner for Valentine’s Day featuring dishes like Nova Scotia lobster, lamb shank, osso buco and more.

Definitely leave room for dessert — a choice of Sicilian Aphrodisiac (a rosemary-infused blood orange with honey-lavender mascarpone); tiramisu (with artisanal coffee liqueur, lady finger cookies and whipped mascarpone); or Venetian chocolate torta with preserved cherries from Cantiano, Italy.

Persevere: And what if you say V-day is for the birds? If you’ve found yourself single, head to any King’s Dining and Entertainment location (kings-de.com).

For just $10 you get it all out via a keepsake King’s pin to write your ex’s name on and play with while you bowl, sure to up your game.

There’ll be signature cocktails and food choices to make the night a singles celebration.
