Jake Grussing, who has been Scott County Library director since 2013, will join Ramsey County on March 14, working out of the Shoreview branch’s administrative offices.

He’ll oversee 99 full-time employees across seven locations and a $12 million annual operating budget.

He replaces Jill Boldenow, who left the county in January 2021 to be vice president of administration at Normandale Community College. Karen Saltis has been interim director.

Grussing was one of 49 applicants for the job, which has a salary range of $111,956 to $166,142.

A St. Paul resident, he has a master of arts degree in library and information studies from the University of Wisconsin and a bachelor’s in English from the University of Minnesota, Morris.
