Hausz, who holds a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, previously spent 15 years with the Minnesota House DFL Caucus, where she was most recently legislative director to House Speaker Melissa Hortman, D-Fridley.

She began her political career as an intern and canvasser for the House DFL caucus in 2006. She later served as a research consultant, the director of DFL caucus services and as executive assistant to then-House Speaker Paul Thissen in 2014. She fills the vacancy created by the December 2021 retirement of Trudy Moloney, who was director of city council operations for 17 years.

Hausz, who grew up in Fort Atkinson, Wis., lives in Richfield with her husband and two kids.
