Sarina Wiegman on today’s game
During yesterday’s press conference, the England boss said:
“I do not believe that [That England are feeling the pressure].
“I think Norway also has to win to win their group. We want to win. It’s easy to say the pressure is on.
“We know what we want – we want to play our best game, entertain and of course win games.
“Our next game is tomorrow against Norway, so we want to win that game and that’s what we’re talking about – developing our style of play, playing our best game, doing our best and then we’ll see what that brings us. ”
“They have a good team and they have Hegerberg back, which is good for them. Having such a player and personality is also very good for the game.
“We also think they have some weaknesses and we will try to exploit them.”
“I think the occasion last Wednesday was tremendous. There were 70,000 people there, it was the first game, we went into that game and we prepared for it for months.
“We had a few different stadiums in the game. I think overall it was a great performance to win 1-0. I think we take away some things that we had moments where we played really well and I think we had moments where we lost the ball a bit too fast. But overall a great performance and we will take that into our game tomorrow.”
“If they want to be the underdog, that’s fine. I think they have a very strong squad and so do we, so I’m expecting an open game and we’ll see where it goes.”
