WHOOPI Goldberg blasted “SHAME on you” and nearly cursed in an angry tirade.
The View star, who many fans are hoping to sack for her on-air blunders, broke free over a leaked video.
During Wednesday’s episode of The View, Whoopi, 66, addressed the actions of the Austin-based American statesman for posting never-before-seen video of the tragic Ulvade Texas shooting.
The daytime talk show host began by admitting, “This story is really driving me insane.”
She goes on to inform her audience that a Texas newspaper recently published a video showing “Uvalde police officers stood still for 77 minutes as the gunman shot and killed 19 students and two teachers.”
Whoopi revealed that “many parents of victims are outraged [that] this was published, but the newspaper is defending its decision.”
Whoopi then speaks to the audience in attendance, viewers watching at home, and the statesman that she “can’t justify it”.
The TV personality then goes straight to the American statesman from Austin.
“You forgot that all these sounds are what people’s children are attached to and you didn’t have to do that.”
She continues: “You wanted to see this video on Sunday, you didn’t have to publish it.”
With anger and disgust boiling over, Whoopi says, “I find this appalling and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
For the thoughtlessness of the parents who have to experience this every day because it’s on TV.”
Audience applause fills the studio as the commentator prepares her closing remarks on the topic.
Whoopi then says, “I don’t know if you guys have kids from the newspaper, but shame on you.”
She mimics the spitting and repeats again, “Shame on you.”
“CAN STILL HEAR THE GUNS”
Later in the segment, co-host Alyssa Farrah Griffin shared her take on why she thinks it’s important for the video to be released, with Whoopi also providing a response.
Alyssa begins by stating that she “believes that this outlet was obliged to make every attempt to reach the family to say they would release it sooner.”
The co-host then explains that she believes that “justice comes from seeing these things.”
“I don’t know if the social justice movement … which grew so strong in the summer of 2020 would have if we were to see this heartbreaking endless footage of George Floyd.”
Whoopi interrupts, “I saw cops taking lives on video… I saw it [but] these are children.
We know how many kids, we know they were in there… we knew it [the police] didn’t do anything, we knew they didn’t walk in, we knew they were cops -“
Whoopi refrains from swearing on air before continuing, “…that they weren’t telling the truth.”
“Anything I appreciate except leaking this, without telling the parents, without giving them a chance to re-steal … these are real people, these are real kids who died.”
An angry Whoopi ends by stating, “You can still hear the gunfire.”
A SCENE OF HORROR
The footage was originally viewed by KVUE’s Austin American-Statesman and Tony Plohetski.
Plohetski, an award-winning investigative journalist, said a surveillance camera placed at the end of a hallway at the school captured “the horror and devastating mistakes made by law enforcement.”
A 77-minute recording from this camera shows the “clearest accounts” of what happened before and after the deaths of 19 students and two teachers at the hands of Ramos and 17 others injured.
The American-Statesman reporter said the suspect, dressed all in black with a backpack, walked quietly into the school’s back entrance with an AR-15.
Shocking images surfaced last month showing armed Uvalde police officers waiting outside classrooms at Robb Primary School for 46 minutes.
The photos, first published by the Texas Tribune, show police officers standing in a line behind shields, holding their guns.
According to the outlet, police pictured in the hallway at Robb Elementary School wanted to get into classrooms 111 and 112 as quickly as possible.
They were pictured at 12:04 p.m. on May 24, 2022 at the end of a hallway next to the blue and green school walls.
It was not until 12:52 p.m. that border guards entered the classrooms and killed the gunman.
The Texas Tribune wrote: “Most of the video from inside the school is captured by a wide-angle camera positioned in the northwest entrance of the school building, the same camera used by the shooter.
Additional footage near the school showed Ramos approaching the building and gunshots rang out in the background.
The video was shared on social media as worried parents ran to school in search of their children.
