Tuchel is considering signing unvaccinated stars
Thomas Tuchel admits he may need to reconsider signing unvaccinated stars for Chelsea in the future.
Blues midfielders N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were unable to travel to the United States for the two-week pre-season tour due to their Covid-19 vaccination status.
When asked about his frustrations at not being able to integrate Kante into the squad in America, Tuchel joked that he should have vaccinated the player himself.
And when asked if vaccinations come to mind if he wants to sign a player, Germany boss Tuchel continued: “Yes, it has to.
“I knew some players that I would take even without vaccination. I must say.
“But yes, it is part of everyday life at the moment.
“We can’t force it. Getting vaccinated is a completely normal decision at the moment. Both players decided against it.
“We have to stick to the rules. You can’t join us. You know the consequences.
“We don’t like that. Of course not. We’d love to have them here and it’s not an ideal solution.
“Anything but ideal. But once the situation is like this, you need to find a solution.
“So they have their trainers there. But it is not compensated. It won’t be the same.”
