IF you’ve ever wondered if coffee from anywhere other than Starbucks is good, one foodie shared her thoughts on it.
For those who didn’t know, major fast food chains known for their fried foods, including McDonald’s and Wendy’s, have coffee on their menus.
If you’re tired of drinking Starbucks coffee and Dunkin’ Donuts, YouTuber Christine’s Snaps tried examples from a few other fast-food chains.
On her channel, Christine covers a wide variety of content, from food tests to blogs about her daily life.
Here’s what she had to say about the coffee product from the following fast food chain.
1. Taco Bell
First, Christine stopped at Taco Bell to order a medium iced coffee with two creams and two sugars.
But the quality of the chain’s Mexican-style coffee didn’t surprise her.
In fact, she said, “It tastes like coffee from a place that serves tacos and burritos.”
Also, “It tastes like the continental coffee you get from a hotel.”
And she added that the coffee beans are “bland.”
But Christine said it was decent enough that she could give it a four out of ten rating.
2. Burger King
The first thing Christine noticed about Burger King was that the coffee looked creamier than Taco Bell.
She compared the look to a milkshake the restaurant sells.
And after trying it right away, she said it not only tastes like a milkshake, but also when paired with cream.
Compared to Taco Bell, it was “more sugary,” Christine said.
However, she wasn’t exactly raving about the overall quality.
“It tastes like last night’s leftover milkshake mix that they heated in the microwave, then put through some ice and then some heavy cream.”
She added that the overall coffee quality “isn’t great.”
“It doesn’t taste like real coffee,” Christine added.
Burger King received a five out of ten from the content creator.
Meanwhile, Christine ordered a cold brew and a Frosty-ccino from Wendy’s
Most notably, one could notice a color difference between the two.
For example, the Cold Brew is dark in color compared to the light color of the Frosty-ccino.
But according to Christine, there was a clear taste winner.
She scowled at the cold brew and said, “It tastes like bean water.”
“Like they threw the beans in a washing machine with water,” Christine added.
However, Christine had more positive things to say about the Frosty-ccino.
“It tastes like a Frosty with coffee,” Christine said.
But she added that it’s more of a dessert, which would likely upset her stomach if she continued drinking it.
Christine gave the Wendy’s Frosty-ccino a 6 out of 10 and the cold brew a zero out of 10.
McDonald’s was the clear winner for Christine.
At the drive-thru window, she ordered an Iced Medium Vanilla Latte, as McDonald’s has a wider menu selection.
Upon tasting it, Christine said that McDonald’s coffee “has a very distinct roasted flavor.”
She also noted that a McDonald’s latte costs just 40 cents more than Burger King’s regular medium-sized coffee.
She gave McDonald’s Ice Medium Vanilla Latte an 8 out of 10.
