Two students have been reported missing in Visakhapatnam after a group of seven students visited Bheemli Beach this morning. Indian Navy helicopters, speedboats and divers were deployed during the search and rescue operations.
According to reports, seven students, who allegedly arrived late for the university, decided to go to Bheemli beach around 11:30 a.m. instead. Four of them then took to the sea to bathe.
However, one of the students, Surya, disappeared while bathing in the sea.
Fearing that Surya had drowned, another student, Sai, went looking for him, but he too could not be found afterwards.
The other students then called the police for help.
Soon Indian Navy personnel aboard INS Kalinga were informed and rushed to search for the two missing students.
Navy helicopters, boats and swimmers began scouring the sea in search of Surya and Sai, but they could not be found until the final reports came in.
