Air and ground firefighters attacked a 10-acre brush fire that ignited Sunday afternoon south of Dulzura near the US-Mexico border, a fire official said.

The fire was reported around 12:10 p.m. in rough, hilly terrain near Marron Valley Road and Otay Mountain Truck Trail.

About 95 firefighters were working to stop the spread of the fire at 1:30 p.m. Two water-dropping helicopters and two water tankers were helping, said Capt. Thomas Shoots of Cal Fire San Diego.

“(We) are making really good progress,” Shoots said.

He said no homes were threatened and no evacuation orders or warnings were issued.

A firefighter was slightly injured, but no further details of the injury were immediately available.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
