A 22-year-old man was shot in the leg during an argument at a Mira Mesa park on Sunday, San Diego police said.

Officers were reported around 7 p.m. on Mira Lee Way and said the victim was shot in a bathroom near Westview Park on Westview Parkway, police said.

The victim, her attacker and another man are sleeping in the park’s restroom, police said.

The assailant apparently shot the victim because the victim did not keep the bathroom clean, police said. The victim was shot through and through in the leg.

When the other man went to help the victim, the assailant hit him in the head with the gun, police said.

The assailant fled and the second victim signaled to the police.

The gunshot victim was taken to hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, police said. It is not known if the second victim, a 30-year-old man, was taken to hospital.

A detailed description of the assailant was not available.
