Deadpool 3: Hugh Jackman’s yellow Wolverine suit explained

It is now known that Hugh Jackman's new Wolverine in Deadpool 3 will be dressed in his trademark yellow garb. Here are the pertinent details on the outfit and how it varies from the Marvel comics.

There are many reasons to be excited for Deadpool 3: in addition to Ryan Reynolds' (the Merc with a Mouth) MCU debut, the threequel will feature the return of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

To refresh your recollection, Logan from 2017 was the last time we saw the X-Men mutant on the big screen. Jackman revealed his intention to put up his claws after 17 years of portraying the role, setting a Guinness World Record for the longest tenure for a live-action Marvel superhero.

All of that changed, though, when Reynolds and Jackman made the momentous announcement that the latter's Wolverine will be appearing in Deadpool 3. Here's all you need to know about Logan's yellow and blue outfit, including a first-look shot of the two wearing their costumes.

Hugh Jackman's MCU Wolverine, unlike the X-Men films, will be wearing the trademark yellow and blue superhero outfit he is renowned for, but there are a few alterations.

The outfit looks to be the Giant-Size X-Men #1-exclusive Classic Yellow and Blue style. According to the Marvel database, "Wolverine continued to wear this suit until X-Men #138, when he began donning his well-known brown and tan costume."

In the comics, Wolverine's outfit stayed largely unchanged when he joined the X-Men, with the exception of his mask, which was changed to feature longer black ears and no whiskers.

Jackman isn't wearing a mask at all in the first look shot, but he could decide to do so later on in the film given that the character will be dressing in a manner that is authentic to the original work.

Another change is that Jackman's Wolverine in Deadpool 3 wears sleeves, when the character does not in the original comics, which instead highlight the mutant's enormous weaponry.

Although the reason for this alteration and whether he will lose the sleeves elsewhere in the threequel are presently unknown, we'll be sure to keep you informed as soon as further information becomes available.

Fans are now ecstatic to see Wolverine receiving the comic book treatment, especially since the character wore black leather suits or everyday clothing in the live-action X-Men movies, with the exception of the occasional tease. And some have offered ideas on how it may be made even more true to the original.

One person expressed their thoughts on Twitter, saying: "The ONLY thing making this better is going sleeveless, but I'm gladly taking the fact that he will finally wear the suit and mask!" Another person commented, "It'd be cool if there was a fight scene that gets his sleeves ripped off and he just keeps rocking it."

"Yellow suit Wolverine slaps!" said a third. A fifth tweeted: "I TOLD Y'ALL WOLVERINE LOOKED PERFECT IN #Deadpool3!!!" A fourth added: "Finally after all this time," while a fifth said: "Finally after all this time."  (Also that his sleeves would be lengthy). Wait just a moment for the mask.

Thanks to a Jackman Instagram Story from earlier this year that displayed the headgear for Logan and Mercer side-by-side, fans are especially certain that Wolverine's mask will complete the look in Deadpool 3.

Jackman told the Associated Press that the MCU's Wolverine will be "angrier" than in the X-Men films, which may have something to do with the Merc's big mouth.

The actor expressed his enthusiasm about taking on the role again, saying: "It's a lot of fun. I truly never expected to return after five years. And I cannot express how eager I am to return.

He's undoubtedly angrier, grumpier, and, as Jackman continued, "he's going to take a lot of free shots at Ryan Reynolds, let me tell you."
