June Wan/ZDNET Apple Watch Series 8 on a wrist
Since the Series 3, an Apple Watch has been one of my go-to gadgets, and I had the good pleasure to review the Series 8 last fall. I became an even bigger fan as a result of the improvements, which included longer battery life and a sleep routine function that tracked my sleep while holding me responsible.
You can't go wrong with the Series 8 whether you're wanting to replace your current Apple Watch or want a fitness motivator that integrates flawlessly with the Apple ecosystem -- especially now that it's only $280 for Prime Day, its lowest price ever.

The Series 8's expanded health capabilities, which are powered by WatchOS 9, include built-in sleep tracking, cycle tracking, and split pace notifications for cardio workouts. The user interaction is far more useful than previous versions when combined with an upgraded Always-On display, which is notably useful for working and exercising.
Speaking of fitness performance, the cutting-edge heart rate sensors also let you know what cardiac "zone" you're in while working out, which is crucial during the last few kilometers of a run.
Even though its sensors fall short of those of Samsung, the Apple Watch Series 8 is a hidden hit.
The Apple Watch is more than just a simple accessory thanks to a number of noteworthy features, including a long battery life and crash detection. The sleekness and ease with which it fits even my small wrist also astounds me. Of course, you can always choose from a selection of watch bands, many of which are also discounted in honor of Prime Day, to further tailor the look to your preferences.
