Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal submits world record $332 million bid for Kylian Mbappé, according to reports By Ben Church and Sammy Mncwabe, CNN

According to numerous reports on Monday, the Saudi Arabian soccer club Al Hilal has made a record-breaking offer of more than $332 million (300 million euros) for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Kylian Mbappé.

The club gave the 24-year-old an ultimatum to sign a new contract or be transferred, therefore he was left out of the squad for PSG's preseason tour of Japan.

PSG, Al Hilal, and Mbappé's representatives have all been contacted by CNN for comment.

Neymar's 2017 transfer from Barcelona to PSG cost $262 million (€222 million), which is the current global record.

Mbappé is reportedly dissatisfied in Paris despite having officially said that he intends to remain there for the next 2023–24 season.

Mbappé reportedly notified PSG in June that he would not be activating his third-year option, leaving the club with the choice of selling their star player this summer or letting him leave for free in 2024.

Earlier this month, at a press conference to welcome the team's new head coach Luis Enrique, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi discussed the club's position over the Frenchman's future.

Luis Enrique, the newly appointed PSG coach, avoids talking about Kylian Mbappé's future.
Our stance is unmistakably stated. We want Kylian Mbappé to stay if that's what he wants to do. However, he must agree to a new contract, Al-Khelaifi informed the press.

"We cannot allow the current top player in the world to walk away for nothing. It is not possible. Since he has already stated that he is not planning to leave for free, this is a French club.

"It is not our problem if someone changes his mind. One of the finest players in the world won't be allowed to leave on the house. It is extremely obvious.

L'Equipe, a French news outlet, said on Monday that PSG's owners are prepared to accept the Al Hilal bid and have given the Saudi club permission to negotiate with World Cup champion Kylian Mbappé. The Al Hilal proposal is said to contain a $775 million (700 million euros) salary package for Mbappé.
