2022 campaign: 1-11, 1-8 in the Pac-12
DL, 5 Players to Watch Scott Cokes: Early in the offseason, the Dartmouth transfer showed signs of being a leader. He led the bunch up front while playing for Dartmouth and had a fantastic offseason.
• OLB Jordan Domineck: At Arkansas, Domineck led the SEC in sacks last season, and this year at CU, he's expected to lead the pass rush.
• RB Dylan Edwards, a quick freshman, was a four-star recruit this year when he graduated from high school. He hasn't let anyone down in preseason training. Despite the Buffs' plenty at running back, Edwards might be the team's go-to player for big plays.
• CB/WR Travis Hunter: This year's top transfer, Hunter was considered the best recruit in the nation when he graduated from high school in 2022. He has performed on both sides of the ball in preseason and is set to start on both.

Colorado crime
Sean Lewis, a new coordinator, has brought his fast-paced offense to Boulder. Shedeur Sanders, who has adapted to the new scheme and had a successful offseason, is its leader. He has a ton of running back and receiving weapons. The offensive line's capacity to safeguard Sanders and create openings for the run game will be crucial. If Sanders does that, he may have a successful day.
Denver defense
Under the leadership of coordinator Charles Kelly, the Buffs' defense aspires to play quickly, just like the offense. On defense, there is a lot of speed on the field, especially in the secondary. The Buffs frequently use five defensive backs, and occasionally six. But the first thing will be to stop the run. The front seven of the Buffs are convinced that they can complete the task.
Denver special teams
Deion Sanders, the head coach, has frequently voiced his faith in each of his kickers, but he hasn't made it known who will be in charge of kicking. Jace Feely and Alejandro Mata might possibly be used by the Buffs. Given that Mark Vassett is among the best punters in the Pac-12, there is no doubt as to who will punt.
How to win in Colorado
CU must perform well in the mud. It's crucial to give Shedeur Sanders time to work on offense, but the defensive line must also be able to stop the run and provide pressure on TCU. The Buffs must also make huge plays, whether that means forcing errors or scoring via special teams or defense.
Notable Colorado players • Despite playing at a variety of different colleges, Colorado players have combined for 461 career starts and 1,245 collegiate games played. In CU history, this team has the most experience going into a season. The previous record for games played at the start of a season was 1,080 in 2005, while the 2016 team had the most starts with 413.
For his collegiate career, Shedeur Sanders needs 17 more throwing yards to achieve 7,000. To reach 10 for his career, he also needs one 300-yard game.
• CU has an overall record of 83-45-5 in season openers, including 18-19-3 in away games. The Buffs have a 1-6 record in their most recent road even season openers going back to 1973.
